My NIT Experience

I decided to make my career in Civil Engineering, after class 12th as I wanted to seek a job in government sector in this field. I prepared hard for JEE in order to get into a reputed college. I cleared JEE with a good score which was enough to get into some top-ranking universities of the country. I selected this college because it was the nearest to my home city and provided all essential facilities. It also had a good placement record.

JEE score was acceptable at this university and my score in JEE met its required cut-off. I began preparing for it during class 12th and then appeared for it. After filling my admission form, I received a call letter from my university via e-mail. During counseling, my documents like class 10th and 12th score card, and JEE score report were verified. I submitted the fee of first semester after my document verification.

My program’s curriculum structure was designed well as per the subject. It included all the topics of engineering. My teachers were great and they taught us topics from basic level as some of us were freshers in this field. Practical classes were also regular and several seminars were also conducted. Most of the faculty members had high degrees like PhD. The methods used in teaching were very innovative.

My college’s placement cell was dedicated and placement record was of nearly 80%. Most of my batch mates including me decided to go for a masters degree, as the placement package increases after that. Many private and government companies visited during the placement drive. The highest placement offer was of nearly 15 LPA while the average offer was of 8 LPA.

My program’s fee was affordable and it offered a good facility to us. For a year the fee paid by me was nearly ₹55,000 and my program was of three-year duration. My books and other supplies were around ₹6,000. I didn’t received any scholarship and paid the fee in installments.

My campus was huge and lush green. It had wide classrooms, huge library with e-library, large playgrounds with badminton and volleyball court. The laboratories were also equipped with latest innovative gadgets. Events like sports meet and fests were also held.
