The best days of life.

It consisted of two entrance tests firstly in a set of two CAT & GAT i.e Creative ability test and general ability test. I qualified for both and then had to give a situation test in which you are given a set of materials which you have to use and make one of the products asked. I always wanted to be a designer and has always been creative since school and NIFT is one of the best institutes I could choose to pursue my career.

The course is divided into 8 semesters 1st year conducts a foundation program where you are taught the base and core of designing and from 2nd year onwards you move toward you particular course opted like fashion design, textile design, accessory design, leather design etc.

All the students have to complete 2 months summer internship at the end of 3rd year the college has a lot of tie-ups with a lot of renowned companies in the industry which provides the students a professional exposure and also gives them an opportunity to get a pre placement offer.The stipend generally starts from 5000 approx.

Placements and job opportunities are good but not all get to do what they always want to do. There are different type of companies which come for placement such as export houses, brands, retail groups, designers etc the starting package is about 3lac p.a. Companies like pantaloons, lifestyle, myntra, jabong came for the placements.

We used to our annual fest "spectrum" with interesting themes it used to be a three day fun which included different competitions between different colleges. Literary , sports, creative and cultural competitions -all kinds of activities were conducted right from antakshari to debates to basket ball to dance each and every part was fun in its own and the best part was the fashion show on the last day in which students come out with all their creativity moulded into one great design which has always been a treat to the eyes.

Fee structure has increased over the years we had hostel facility along with mess living in the hostel was optional and 2 people stayed in one room and 4 ppl shared one bathroom & washroom now the new and advanced campus has been built with better facilities at my time fees was 1.5 approx for a year including tution fees and hostel fees.

I dont have much idea about the loan facility but there were exchange programs where students opted for foreign exchange course for a semester or two.

The campus life has been the wonderful days of my life classes were never a boredom we were free birds could listn to the music and sketch and explore we enjoyed all festivals just like a family it was our small world. Be it eid or diwali or holi each festival has been celebrated with same enthusiasm.

Being only 300 students in the college at my time each and every person knew each other by their names seniors have been quiet helpful if you had a nice bond with them.

Exams are in the form of submissions, juries and practical exams. Exams are always fun when its comes to practical exams we used to explore different fabrics, styles and used to give our best in those three hours to come out with the best of the designs.

The faculty of my college have been very supportive throughout raebareli being a small place, we hardly had any place to escape so the college was our only world and with the staff faculty and our mates made it a family.
