The admission process is simple in our college. You just have to pass your inter with above 50 percent. There are two types of modes by which you can apply for your admission to our college, online as well as offline. While filling the admission form we have to pay 13000 one-time fees which are also called registration fees to get admission in your respective courses but the best thing is that this fee will get accommodated in your first semester fees. Our college comes under Punjab technical university popularly known as IKGPTU JALANDHAR.you can also give an entrance examination conducted by Punjab technical university, if you crack this exam your fees will be reduced to 15000 per semester, but this exam is not mandatory you can also take Direct admission in our college. Talking about my course BTech in mechanical, our collage hai proper set up of every modern machine, for example, 3d printer, lathe machine, boilers, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college is affiliated with Punjab Technical university so the course which is prescribed by Punjab technical university is followed in our college. The course is very simple and the syllabus is very easy. The exams are very easy to pass. The basic key to passing the examination is by referring to the previous year's question paper of Punjab technical university. You can easily pass just by studying 1 month before the examination. The faculty in our college is top notch most of them are Ph.D. holders in their respective subjects and with a good teaching experience. We have labs daily and you know that in mechanical engineering practical work is most important as compared to Theory knowledge. We have a good number of faculty members and they have a good way of teaching which is understood by all.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Our college gives alot of internship opportunities to the students and if you perform well in internship, companies also give letter of recommendation to the students. Companies like sky riders and JP Morgan gives internship to the students. As a mechanical engineering student, I got the opportunity to work as an intern in tech Mahindra for a duration of two months. The duration of the internship varies from company to company, minimum of three months and a maximum is of 6 months. Most of the companies give a stipend of rupees 5000 per month and Max goes to 15000 per month. By working as an intern in tech Mahindra, we were given the task of inspecting vehicle which was manufactured by the plant. By working as an intern I gain a lot of experience which is very crucial from point of view of my upcoming placement.

Placement Experience

3.5

Our college has the best record in providing placement. For placement, our college starts TPP program for placement from 2nd semester, in which there is focus on the development of various skills of students like programing, speaking, communication skills, logical skill and more importantly it helps students to overcome their fear of lack of confidence. Placements start from 3 years onwards and various companies visit every year like Google, royal Enfield, byjus, etc. The highest package provided is 35 lakh and the average package is 3.5 lakh. 80 percent of students get placed every year.My plan after getting a degree is to get placed in a good company if not than, will work on my own start-up plan. My dream is to work in megacities like Mumbai, chennai.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure in our college is very simple and our college doesn't have any kind of hidden fees. The first semester fees for the b tech course is 47000 and from the next semester onwards it is 45000. There is one fee of the training and placement program TPP which is 7000 and it is a one-time fee which you have to give in two installments of rs 3750 each. There is one scholarship Dr. BR Ambedkar sports scholarship which you can apply online it requires all the documents such as caste certificate, Income certificate, and residential certificate and after that, the college will approve your scholarship and you will get a waiver in the fees. The hostel fees is also moderate and with good facilities.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
