Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune Review

The college is among the top-ranking engineering institute in India. I choose the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune because it has very good international collaborations plus as per my marks, the college was a perfect fit. The admission form was filled out from the college website and after clearing the JEE. The admission in the college is through MHTCET but if we have cleared the JEE exam and are able to meet the college cutoff then we are also granted admission.

The curriculum of the college is a mixed bag. Mixed bag in the sense is curriculum properly balances between the practical, theory, assignment and project activity. The curriculum not only covers all the topics but help us to understand each computer component and circuit. The faculty of the college is good and cooperative they are very helpful full and help us to identify our weak points and guide us to convert them into our main USP. The faculty of the college is mainly of PhD standards with very good research experiences from very good universities of India.

The college internship program is very nicely designed and is a very good opportunity for the refreshers like me to learn about the corporate world and to attain professional experiences by developing new skills and gaining some new ideas for career upliftment.

Frankly speaking, if I talk about the college placement college easily competes with the best in the business our college also offers many international placements with very good placement packages. During our time the college was successful in inviting more than 100+ companies for the placement process. The highest packages for our batch was around 30 LPA and the average salary offer was 12 LPA which is not too bad. Accenture, Infosys, Mercedes Benz, Mu Sigma Business Solution, Tata Technologies Solutions, Thermax, Deloitte, Cognizant etc are the names of some of the companies that have participated in the college placement drive.

If I talk about the college scholarship the college only offers scholarships to only those who are of low financial and as per the SC/ST category. The college provides scholarships through Govt. of Maharashtra’s Social Welfare Department and Govt. of Maharashtra’s Directorate of Technical Education.

The college campus is very lively and fun. The college offers us sports facilities like Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Chess, Table Tennis, SoftBall. The college library is well planned and we can find books on all kinds of topics and many international journals are also available. There are separate labs for each department. The college has a very good cafeteria facility and an on-campus medical facility is also available. The classrooms are big and spacious.

The hostel is divided into two parts one is Prime Hostel and the other is Regular. The hostel rooms are very nicely furnished and cleaned on a daily basis. The menu has both veg and Non-veg cuisine. The hostel has a laundry facility too. The common room has LCD TV. The hostel has an indoor games facility. The security is very good. all in all our stay in the hostel is worth it as we make lots of friends here the hostel environment is very friendly but we have to maintain the hotel discipline at the same time.
