Entrance Preview
NEST 2007, 60/100, I opted for this college because of the interest I had in basic sciences. I wanted to pursue career in physics and this came as one of the best opportunity available.
Course Curriculum Overview
Quite intensive which had good mix of various streams of basic sciences like life sciences, physics, chemistry and mathematics. In the last 2 years of study we had much more flexibility in opting for courses of our interest.
Internships Opportunities
Our college education was mostly free as we used to get a stipend of Rs 5000 per month and Rs 6000 year towards book grant. Internship were offered in some of the most prestigious places which include TIFR, IISc in india and CERN abroad.
Placement Experience
Almost everyone is pursuing career in sciences and have opted for higher studies mostly PhDs while some are into management also but they are exception.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its definitely the best in the country as it is almost free except some 3000 per sem towards tution and hostel charges. Apart from that we get a scholarship of Rs 5000 per month to cover our expenses.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have answered this question in earlier paragraphs. We use to get Rs 5000 as scholarship and Rs 6000 per year towards book grant and also Rs 20000 per year to cover project cost and travel related to it.
Campus Life
We had state of art libraries with books from all streams. We had educational tours in some of the most exciting places like Shri Hari Kota Lauching pad, BARC Mumbai, NFC Hyderabad, TIFR balloon facility hyderabad etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Its certainly was very life changing experience. CBS ensured all round development of me as an individual. Alumni network is growing strong with people spread all over the world but I will its just the begining. There is lot much in store as far as alumni networking is concerned.
Exam Structure
Exam were open book at times but they were quite challenging at times and also there were proper feedback system at place to suggest possible correction in the exam pattern. They were mostly to test students accumen for research than for anything else.
