MCA AT MACE

From my overall experience about the college i could easily say that our college has good infrastructure. They are offering placement for those who need it.but i have to say one thing, this college is not for the spoonfeeds, you have put effort to gain something.

MCA ENTRANCE EXAM BY CEE KERALA.I have studied bca as my degree hance i was interested to continue my studies on the same stream.Hence i choose mca.I aquired 197th rank in entrance exam and got admission through muslim quota.

The course curriculum is made by mg university, kottayam. It is almost similar to a btech computer science.Each semester includes a programming language lab along with some core subjects such as Operating system, dbms, microprocessors etc. In 4th sem we could choose an elective lab as well as subject. The subject was SQM(software quality management). We can choose Python/PHP. We didn't have a good tutor for any of these.we have to put our effort to study php, even though we are much more interested in python(our dept didn't allowed us to take python). In 5th sem we have choose XML as an elective subject and a mini project which we done in.net/PHP/java6th sem is completely dedicated to main project.

Many companies have visited our campus for placement but not much were interested in giving internships to the students. Zoho has visited our campus for placement and they give offers to 2 students and offered internship to 2 students. Their offer was 6.5lk/annum. I didn't know about the internship offer. TCS is offering internship for mca/mtech. two students were selected for internship for final year project with a stipend of 10k/month.

Placement were too good in our college. Many companies were visited our campus and they give opportunities with off campus drives also. TCS was the first company to visit Campus for mass recruitement and they have selected 183 students with a package of 3.5 for pg students and 3.14 for btech. Zoho -2 students 6.5 packageUST -1 package 3lakhQburst -22 students package 3 Envestment - 5 students package 5.5 Our college site doesn't provide much information. In my class MCA19 got placed from 25 students. I can provide the detailscompany name No Package TCS 11 3.5 Mphasis 12.5UST 2 3Wipro 6 2 Theory and y 1 22 got offers from multiple companies

Other than university exam, 2 series exam will be conducted in each semester for the internal evaluation. Some time we think it as hectic due to the shortage of working days.

Our college is an government aided college so not having an expensive fees structure Btech- 6200/year, MCA- 7000/year. But in each year we have to pay additional fees for internet, lab etc

Egrantz scholarship is provided by the government for those who have an annual income less than 1 lakh. Complete fees is refunded at each year and we have a stipend of 200rs/month.

As i am a PG student and we are too small in size comparing to the graduates. The college has more than 3000 students and our entire department contain about 85 students! Hence we didn't have much role in the celebrations. But from my experience the college provides enough freedom to students to conduct extracurricular activities and like every other students they too are not satisfied. I haven't seen any kind of ragging issues in the college, it seems like ant-ragging cell has working effectively. As it is a govt college, students from all parts of india are studying here, especially many noth indians. Gender ratio were almost equal, i think. May be a 6:4.

We got boys as well as girls hostel. Dont know much about the girls hostel though i could provide some details about men's hostel.We have 4 hostels. Each of them is categorized according to the quality of rooms. Each hostel room is shared by 4 peoples except one hostel. Only that hostel room the charge is high (about 1500). All other rooms are cheap about 700(avg). Mess food is also good, not have much charge.

Alumni network is too big for our college. College has started 50 years back and it was one among the 5 engineering colleges in kerala back in 90's. So we got very reputed alumni's all over the world and they are giving many contributions to the college.

The college events were quite famous in keralaTechnical fest named as Takshak is held in every year at the time period of september. It is a national level technical symposium were more than 1000 peple are participating in each year. The cultural event is named as sanskriti which is 3 day program held each year at the time period of march-april

One of biggest problem lies here. Eventhough my college is a reputed one(one of the top 5 colleges in kerala), i have to admit that faculties are not upto the mark. We got 8 lecturers and among them only 2 were highly effective. Only one asso.professor and he is too good with great knowlede and amazing teching skills. Some of the teachers were too bad and didn't have the standard to teach pg students. None of them have Phd or mphill.
