Remarks

The admission is completely based on a merit basis. The admission process is completely online including submission of fee post covid times. The application form and the details regarding the form are available on the college website i.e ggdsd.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview

This course provides you with 6 subjects in the first year and from the second year onwards there are 7 subjects in total including the Hons subject. The faculty members are really nice and the teaching style is also amazing.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 32000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available to students from the second year onwards. The internship roles are mostly related to sales, marketing, and management. Stipends offered by these companies are mostly performance-based but some also offer a fixed stipend.

Placement Experience

Placement offers are available once you become a final year student with packages ranging from 2-3 LPA. However, Internships are available to students from the second year onwards. Placement companies - Deloitte, L&T constructions, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for 3 years would be around 1,00,000, which is quite costly as compared to other colleges in Chandigarh. However, the atmosphere is really good. Plus, the examination fee is to submit for every semester seperately which is also around Rs 2500 per semester. There are some scholarships available on the basis of different criteria.

Campus Life

The campus life in this college would be amazing because the atmosphere is really good. However, the campus size is not so big. There are many vocational courses available as well. There are many organizations in the college as well which you can join for eg NSS, NCC, Rotaract, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

GGDSD COLLEGE FROM STUDENTS PERSEPECTIVE

Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical . College doesnt have any entrance exam for admission.Students are admitted through centralized admission under DHE chandigarh. Punjab university offers admission to those students those have good grades in class 12th. The eligibility for admission depends on various factors and varies from course to course. Eligibiltity of my course was just on my 12th class's board percentage. You can find the application form, application fees and application dates on the official website of GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH There are reservered seats for specific castes although i am from general category so i did not get any type of reservation. The exams are held every 5 to 6 months after the semester end. And they are held from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2 pm to 5pm.
