Netaji Subhas University of Technology Review from a 1st year student.

To take admission to the Netaji Subhash University of Technology, you have to clear JEE with a percentile according to the cut-off. The JEE examination is held every year for students who passed class 12 with a recognizable education board. It is conducted by NTA at an All India Level. It is conducted to take admission in technical engineering, architecture, and planning institutes of India. There are reservations for many categories like SC/ST OBC, PWD and also Home State quota.

I chose Mechanical Engineering because I had an interest in Automobiles and the Mechanical field of Physics. As I am in the 1st Semester, the faculty of our college is very student-friendly. As we are studying online, the faculty tries their best to make the class as interesting as a real classroom. We have 5 units in the 1st semester and there is a test after every unit. The questions of the test are well-balanced and some of them really test the skills of a student.

Most of the companies that come to campus for internships are open for COE/IT students so it is a disadvantage for other streams there are lots of opportunities available off-campus and also you can ask your seniors to help get yourself in internships. But every time it is your own knowledge that gets you an internship.

As we enter the college the placement cell regularly informs us about the current placement and internships scenario. From the 3rd year, the Placement cell informs us about the internships we can join to learn experience. It also helps us in bringing confidence to crack interviews. There comes many companies from abroad and from within India and each branch gets a good amount of opportunities except Biotechnology. Most companies come for COE and ECE branches but many come for all branches. The highest package last year was given by Facebook which was undisclosed.

Even though NSUT is a government college its fee is quite high. It starts with Rs 2,50,000 and increases with every year. There are scholarships though for students below the poverty line and also for middle-class students whose annual income is below Rs 6,00,000. When entering various societies and seniors educate you about the variety of scholarships you can apply for.

As you enter the university various societies and seniors welcome you and educate you about reservations, placements, and extracurricular activities. The fresher-senior relationship is very good and there is no such thing as ragging in NSUT. There are many societies, official and unofficial too and they can be pretty interesting at first but try to join only the ones you're interested in as it can make your schedule hectic. There is a playground and gym but as our session is right now going online, we never saw them.
