Remarks

Firstly you have to choose from the courses offered by the university that interests you. Then you can either apply through the official website of the university or collect the application from the office at the central block. The fee has to be paid for the application and it differs for different courses. After filling out the application we have to submit it to the office with necessary documents that are asked to submit along with the application. We have to take up the entrance exam and the tentative dates will be given. The pattern for the entrance test will also be given on the official website. Once you are done with the entrance you will have to go for the interview and the results will be out in a few days. Applications will be issued from the month of Dec to 3 days after the board results are announced in Karnataka. Fees differ based on whether they are from Karnataka, Kerala, others states of the country, or other parts of the world. The basic eligibility is 10th and 12th pass.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I took BCOM as it will be helping me in my future goals to pursue a specialization in accountancy. The faculty here are approachable. They use various modules of study. Apart from the theoretical lectures we also have case analysis, guest lectures, and industrial visits. The strength of the student per class will range up to 80. They not only teach what's in the course plan but also give us insights into what is happening around us. The qualification of the faculty starts from masters and ranks up to higher degrees. We will have 3 CIA's(Continuous Internal Assessment). The first CIA is for 20 marks that have two components A and B. The 2nd CIA is the mid-semester exam that is for 50 marks and it's a written exam. The 3rd CIA will be a Presentation that improves our skills and is for 20marks. Then we have the End semester exam(ESE) for 100marks. All the CIA's and Ese marks will be divided in half and totaled and results will be announced. The exams are not tough and can score average marks.

Placement Experience

4

There are various reputed companies that come to hire students. Placement opportunities start from the 5th semester. The company will provide a cutoff if u have scored equal to or above the specified cutoff then you can apply for it within the specified time period. Min percent for students to sit for placements is 70% and differs according to the companies. Companies like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and other companies come every year. I would suggest sitting for the placements though we do not clear it we will at least get an overview of the various procedures and the skills they are looking for. Which will help us in our upcoming interviews.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure varies for courses over time. We'll have to pay it for 1 year that is 2 semesters. We can also avail of the various scholarship applicable to us. We can also avail of the installment option if we are not able to pay it at once. We also have opportunities for placements. Reputed Companies come and recruit students. To apply the companies will provide a cutoff according we have to apply for it within the given time. There will be various rounds that have to be cleared in order to get the offer letter. We should also ensure that we clear the degree without any backlog for Joining to work. And placement opportunities start from the 5th semester. The fee structure according to me at this university is affordable compared to the other universities.

Campus Life

5

There will be various events conducted throughout the year as it not only focuses on academics but also on the overall development of the student. Some of the events are Bhasha Utsav, Blossoms, Daksh, Darpan, and many more. At the library, you can find various books. Books related to academics and nonacademics are available. You can use the library during working hours. Classrooms are spacious and also has smart board and projectors. And other basic facilities such as proper ventilation and lighting. There are various sports activities that we can join for which coaching is also provided. Eg: Football, basketball, throwball, etc. There are also other clubs and associations such as the Centre for Social Action, Commerce Clubs, and many more.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
