Shriyash Janwe's Review On Rajiv Gandhi College Of Engineering, Research And Technology - [RCERT], Chandrapur

I had given the MHT-CET exam and I scored about an average marks in that exam. My hometown is in Chandrapur and so my family thought it would be easy for me to have my education completed from here. So, we went for this particular college in my hometown.

The course that I studied was neither too easy nor too difficult I would say. For the 1st year of BE, we had yearly pattern that is the exams was held only once adn for rest of the three years we had semester pattern. For the final year we could choose 2 electives per sem depending on our choice.

I have only a 2 month internship experience in a small company located in pune. Note that my colleges doesn't practise calling out companies to give internship to students. We individually have to approach companies and strive for the desired internship.Thr stipend offered depends on the company that we are doing internship in.

The placements in my college is not good. I however got placed in a company named as FACE institute. The companies that visited my college were Vedanta, FACE, JDS Agro, Maintech and a few small companies. The package varied depending on the company. Average package would be 2 lacs per anum. Approximately 20% of the students got placed including me.

The major event celebrated in my college is during ganesh festival. It is a complete 5 day event and lots of programs are organised during this time such as robotics competition, aim bot, various sports such as cricket, volleyball, basketball and also dance program, singing, etc. Many students participate in these activities and make the college event a memorable one.

The fee structure of my college was quite expensive the amount being 89000 per year for open category. However scholarships were offered by the government for those belonging to the backward class such as OBC, SC and ST. These categories had to pay less amount as compared to the open category.

No loan or scholarship was provided by the college. However, it was provided by the government through college. Like mentioned earlier, open category had to pay full fees that is 89000 while OBC category paid half fees of the total fee amount. Whereas SC and ST paid only 7000 rupees for college fee as high concession is given to them by the government.

The campus life was good except for the regular attendance of the classes. Like mentioned earlier competitions were held in the college. sports such as cricket, volleyball, basketball. Also singing, dancing, fresher interview, robot war, follow the path were actively organised. The quality of the fest was good as students from other colleges also participated in these events and add to the enjoyment.Gender ratio must be 60 boys:40 girls in the college.
