Remarks
IIT Dharwad was established in 2016 under the mentorship of II Bombay. IIT Dharwad has just made a name for itself in just a few years. IIT Dharwad has signed 20+ MOUs with national and international universities for its Research and Development programs. As I am from Karnataka and I am aware of the popularity of the college in our state. My JEE rank was between 4500 to 6500 and IIT Dharwad was the best fit for me as the admission process is very smooth according to the JEE score as we don't have to go through and GD and PI round. The candidate must pass JEE and meet the cutoff and the candidate must secure a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of the program is excellent and the college is also quite popular for its CSE program. The curriculum is no doubt as of IIT standards that meets all the latest norms. The curriculum is similar to the curriculum of IIT Bombay as it is mentored by IIT Bombay. The curriculum is the proper blend of theoretical and practical knowledge that prepares students to meet global challenges.
Internships Opportunities
The college placement committee guides us for the internship after completing the 3rd year candidate is eligible to be part of the internship program. But due to the lockdown because of the pandemic, we did have the internship program. So we have to submit the written assignment according to the subject and topic provided by the concerned faculty.
Placement Experience
The college has a good placement record. The college placement committee is very professional and hard-working as they have to work harder to attract good companies during the pandemic for college placement. During such adverse times also the college was able to maintain a good placement record. The highest package for our batch went around 25 LPA and the average package was around 10 LPA. Companies like Microsoft, DRDO, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Adobe, Amazon, L&T, etc visited the campus for the college placement drive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarships for merit students. Scholarship for SC/ST/PWD students is also available. College provides scholarships to students under more than 5+ scholarship programs. Campus Life
The campus life of the college is good and the seniors and college staff are friendly. The college is surrounded by lots of greenery. The college organized its first fest called PARSEC a technical fest that allows students to demonstrate their innovative skills. The college organizes activities like sports competitions, quizzes, and debate competitions. The faculty guest faculty from IIT Bombay also visit the campus for guest lectures.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms of the hostels are very big and spacious and properly ventilated. The bathroom is attached to every room in the hostel. There are 24 hours internet facility available in the hostel. The hostel common room is equipped with an indoor game facility like table tennis, carrom, LCD TV., etc. The food in the mess is very good and tasty. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned 4 times a week. The hostel is equipped with all types of facilities and amenities according to the comfort of students.
Faculty
The faculty of the college are really very good. Most of the faculty of our colleges are from IIT Bombay so you can imagine the standard of the faculty. The college also does not compromise with faculty. The faculty of the college helps us to clear all our doubts and the faculty teaching methods are so good that most of the doubts are cleared in the ongoing class.
