IIT Kharagpur Review

IIT Kharagpur is ranked India's 5 best colleges for engineering by NIRF. I was also adamant to be part of IIT Kharagpur as the standards of education and engineering program are one of the best in India and the placement record of the college is also superb. I opted for IIT Kharagpur just because of its placement record. The candidate must clear the GATE exam and must secure 60% marks (55% for Sc/ST/PWD students) in the degree program followed by GD and PI round. If you have work experience then you are given more weightage.

The curriculum of the college is designed according to international standards. The curriculum is designed to impart theoretical knowledge and to empower students with practical and research work. The curriculum helps students to develop professional and leadership skills to face industrial challenges.

The candidate is applicable to the internship program after completing its first year. The college placement committee helps us and guide us to opt for better companies according to our interest level. The stipend ranges from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- according to the tenure of the internship program. If any student who is involved in any kind of research work can skip the internship by submitting adequate documents regarding their research work. I also took part in the internship program and received the pre-placement offer from Google.

The placement record of the college is superb and the college has a 100% placement record for our batch. The college placement committee is very hardworking and professional. The placement committee guides us throughout the placement tenure so that we can be placed in good companies. The highest package for our batch went up to 24.03 LPA and the average package was around 14 LPA. I also received a pre-placement offer worth 20 LPA from Google. Companies like Honeywell, Excel, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Accenture, TSMC, Sony, Rakuten, Valuance, Google, etc visited our campus during the college placement drive.

The college also provides scholarships to merit students under its Merit Cum Means Scholarship program. The college also provides scholarships for SC/ST/PWD students. The campus life of the college is good. The students from different departments are friendly and cooperative. We the M.tech students do not get much time to explore the college as we are mostly busy in some kind of research or project work because college provides us am ample environment for studies and there are lots of opportunities available in the college and we don't want to miss any such opportunity. The events and fests like Robosoccer, leader summit, Kshitij, Tech Fest and spring fest help us to enjoy and learn more about the cultural diversity of India.

The hostel rooms are big and spacious. The rooms are cleaned every day and students hygiene is properly taken care of. The rooms are equipped with beds, study tables, Lan connection and almirah for students. The college provides 24 hours high-speed WiFi facility. The mess food is good and healthy the menu keeps on changing. The hostel management and warden are cooperative and professional. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of facilities and student comfort is fully taken care of.

The faculty of the college is of PhD level and with lots of research work experience. The faculty helps and guides us a lot during any kind of research. The faculty are masters in their concerned subject and it gives us the opportunity to connect with the faculties for any kind of research work. The faculty are very helpful they not only guide but they also take part in the research work.
