The Students Committee organizes all activities and sports at IIM Shillong, with Nirvana - Sports and cultural/arts competition being the most popular. Along with that, there is a magnificent library with a vast collection of books. The institute also offers a well-designed hostel infrastructure and most of the quality functioning centers that one might wish for.

The hostels are very spacious and comfortable with double occupancy for the first years followed by single occupancy for the second years. The dormitory is equipped with all of the necessary amenities to make a student's time on campus meaningful and pleasant. Each of the buildings has its own common area and indoor game room. The mess menu is updated on a regular basis, and proper hygiene is maintained throughout the hostel amenities. The rooms have an attached personal bathroom and a small balcony.

There was a Group discussion and personal interview round prior to getting shortlisted for admission to the college. The GD had a topic related to the business scenarios in order to check the business acumen.
