Remarks

Space science is one of the major factor that drives me in this college. It is 1st space science college in Asia. Also, the atmosphere in kerela is quite good. The state and it's nature, people are also good. And one of the major thing is, It comes under Department of Space. It is associated with well known government organization of INDIA, ISRO. Also, the fees were low but now onwards, the fee structure, placements etc. are changing. Please visit the www.iist.ac.in for more and latest details.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose this course because I am interested in it. The talking about faculty is that, All the faculties from all the department are quite good and well studied. Almost all the faculty have completed their PhD from well known national and international colleges. The student ratio is bit poor here. In my batch of 2018 in college, 6 girls out of 140 is there including all the branches of it. But student to faculty ratio is around 6:1.

Internships Opportunities

4

Till now, Internship is available in various ISRO Centers. You can get other good company too on your own. But because of covid situation, all the internship are available within college remotely or on campus. But still there is a chance for other companies if you can get it on your own.

Placement Experience

4

ISRO is one of the major placement till now. Usually, they signed the bond for all the students that if they get more then 7.5 CGPA and vacancy available then they have to do paid government job of scientist/Engineer SC in ISRO centers for 3 years otherwise they have to pay 10 lakhs bond. But now, rules are going to change. You may visit the website and get the latest update. And those who didn't get isro absorption, few companies comes for campus placement too for that. But that is not that good. But now, everything is going to change. Please visit the website for new updates.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure has been revised from this year so it is good if you visit the website and get it from there. I am not fully aware about new details. And scholarship details are also available on website. You may please check from there.

Campus Life

4

There is a campus life. But I am very disappointed to say that the Campus is on hill side because Kerala is full of hills area. But college tried it's best to get us as many things as they can. Recently, there has been student activity center (SAC) developed which includes basketball, tennis, badminton etc. Sports. There is also volleyball, football, gym etc. Facilities available. Also, one cultural fest "Dhanak" and one technical college fest "Conscientia" happens each year but because of covid situation it has been stopped now.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
