Remarks

Branch I needed, good weather, good placements for CSE, friendly seniors, beautiful campus. But in my time in the college I found out it's a little underdeveloped in comparison, the administration doesn't listen to the kids and the funding for cultural activities is low. But I think I still would've chose this college , because 0 tuition fees for female students (at my time, I don't know about now) and the place and the placements were good enough for my branch.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I feel like in my college, CSE was always treated like the cream of the BTech and the professors were nice. But our common courses were very boring and unnecessary, thankfully they have been reduced to a minimum. The faculty to student ratio depends on the class size of the subject but for the first year the whole batch will study in same classes and after that it's mostly like 70 students or so per class. The teaching method was more or less the same, with ppts and demos and assignments. We never had a problem with exam not being held on time. I think the first two years were easy to pass but I regret not getting better grades because the rest two years got hard for me. Specially my core courses as I started losing interest in CSE, I found it hard to keep up and it made my CGPA dip. But I never let it dip less than 7, which is essential since you need that for placements. And passing is easy. If you don't get too distracted. Even if you only give assignments and mess up your exams. You'll still pass.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

No. My intern got cancelled due to covid. I got an intern in wipro.

Placement Experience

3.5

In my last year, seventh sem I sat for placements. Our highest packages were from PPOs from the intern season like codenation, DE shaw, Goldman Sachs, Adobe. If you have CSE, I can say if you're even a little hardworking by your third year or fourth year you have good chances of getting a good placement. But people are often unprepared for their interns which is a mistake i made which takes place in third year but it is a much easier and better opportunity than placements.Corona made the placements worse for my year but it shouldn't be a problem later. For people in other branches who are not looking for CS related job. Please refer to other seniors from my college. I'm not sure about those opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I'm sorry I'm not aware of scholarships because my tuition fee was not taken at the time, because of being a female candidate and our director was very keen on giving free education to female candidates.About TAship. You can do it every sem from your second year and you get a maximum of 15k in a sem, depends on the hours you spend. The normal fee structure can be found on the iit Mandi official website. And you can see the total fee for different categories. And scholarship and fee reduction for different incomes.

Campus Life

4.5

Since you live in mountains, and if you love mountains. You're gonna love it. I was a big part of music club for my 4 years and I'd highly recommend exploring your other passions during BTech. And then there's all kinds of competitions. Intra college, and inter college. Inter iit is a big event for all iits. We have sports centre and mostly all sports are played. All social clubs cultural and technical are run by students. Just the funding needs to be signed for, by the faculty advisors. There's dance, drama, art, astronomy, robotics, and all kinds of clubs and if you don't find one you like you're open to opening one. This is one of the things I loved the most about my college that less population means underdeveloped clubs but also club full of opportunities and development. One person in the college was involved in several things at once and had a drastic development during these four years.

Hostel Facilities

the following is the bare bones of accommodations in HPNLU lavery centre HPNLU placements and carrer prospects :-the HPNLU students are usually allowed to have campus placements staring in the 9th semester .the placement cell is only quite young ,and thus developing at NLU . Boutique law firms and companies such as link legal and lakshmikumaran and sridharan also conduct top recruiting , and a few of the students also conduct top recruiting ,and a few of the students also get the PPO,s after the internship . packages the largest packages are normally between 10-12 LPA,with an average package of between 6-7 LPA placement percentage approximately 40-50 % of students seeking corporate jobs end up being placed off campus . plans after degree :on a personal note ,i will be exploring the world of litigation or the courts ,as the degree offerings provided by the university provide a good base in regards to competitive tests .

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.
