Remarks

MAKUT is one of the top ranked university in the state for non AICTE approved professional course like biotechnology microbiology genetics. My college GNIPST has the best laboratories and equipments,the teachers are very co-operative.Hence I chose this.

Course Curriculum Overview

Microbiology is basically very relevant especially in this present times.And in cases of such applied science guidance of faculties for knowing and handling the lab equipments were very needed.And we were trained thoroughly in the first years.Tamalila ma'am especially helped us through thick and thin.

Various clinical and pharmaceutical companies come for placements. Beavery and beverage industries come for placement as well. Our alumnis are HOD of bio sciences in famous colleges like Stanford. They even help us through online lectures or webinars.

College Events

We have an amazing campus with more than one grounds.Cultural fest, tech fest is huge there.We even celebrate pujas,traditional events,competitions,freshers farewell so on.Students,the organizing years and the juniors seniors remain excited throughout the years for this.

Campus Life

We have a big library and e-library. We have inter and intra college tournament frequently and sports are held where participants from other colleges are welcomed too.We have a huge campus with excellent lab equipments, different labs for different subjects. We don't have a wifi facility in our college.

Hostel Facilities

No i don't stay in hostel.We have huge seperate buildings for girls and boys hostel. One of them is named Satnam Kaur girls hostel. The rooms are shared among 3 students.It's very convinient. Our hostels are strict in general regarding timings and holidays. But lenient and caring when needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of the course is pretty nice with diversified subjects alsong with specialization subjects in the 3rd and 4th semester. Some compulsory subjects include Tagore Studies and Basics of Communication. The course also includes Development Communication, Online media, Journalism, Gender studies, Advanced Audio Visual Production. The department is well equipped a mac lab but it only have 5 macs. The curriculum also includes Design, UIUX, Graphics design etc, and the curriculum is continuously updating with moden media teachings. The curriculum mostly prepare us for Academic Purposes than Industry.

Placement cell is very active in GNIPST. Students are assisted amd trained for placements from the third year only. Average package ranges from 3- 5 LPA. I have applied for institute of genetic engineering for the same course BSc genetics but I to admission in Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences because they are the only other colleges in West Bengal who provides BSc genetics as their course and I choose this college because this is under GIS group and this is well known in West Bengal. I did not get any rejection from the other colleges I applied.
