I just have one bad memory associated with IIM Kashipur which is related to the Placement rules we had there. The rule said if a person gets a PPO from some company which is external and not taking part in Campus placements, he/she is not allowed to sit f

I gave CAT in 2013 and scored 96. 2 percentile. I chose IIM Kashipur over other IIM's because it was nearest to Delhi and I thought I would get to build the institute from scratch as ours was the 3rd batch.

Faculty and academics were really good. We used to have visiting faculties from other IIMs and foreign B-Schools as well to teach us specialized courses. Our core faculty also had a rich industry as well as academic experience with a rich research background. Overall the experience was great in terms of learning.

Summer placements were good and the average stipend of our batch was around 30k. Majorly students from Sales & Marketing domain got the highest salaries. Internships were offered by companies like NTPC Ltd. , Ruchi Soya, KPMG, RPG Group, Reliance Insurance, VLCC, Sharaf DG, ICICI Bank etc.

Placements were decent and the average salary of our batch was around 8-9 lpa. Majorly students from Sales & Marketing domain got the highest salaries. For final placements companies like BPCL, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, EY, Accenture, GAIL, RPG Group, Videocon, Aditya Birla Group, etc. visited the campus.

The hostel rooms were not great but they were still in a manageable condition, having basic furniture and had enough space for one person to live comfortably. Mess food and sitting area was really good. Much better than many other campuses I've went to. Apart from rooms and mess area, our hostel had Volleyball area, TT room, Recreational classes, and football playground. Mess fee was not included in the annual fee we paid there, but it was very nominal (about 11000 for 3 months) and student body was involved in running mess operations.

None that I have availed

Our campus was located in Uttarakhand and it was very green around there. People led a peaceful life and most of the surrounding areas were rural. We had amazing 2 years at campus, always involved in some activities, events or studies. During some free time, students used to run to Nainital and Jim Corbett, they were about 2 hours away from Kashipur. Talking of Gender ratio, it wasn't a healthy one. We had 26 girls out of 130 students. And there were numerous Inter and Intra college fests/ events during 2 years of my stay at IIM.

We had a separate Alumni Relations committee dedicated to keep Alumni connected to their Alma Mater. I was the Council member for ARC of my college. The seniors were really supportive and always enthusiastic for any event/ cause which IIM Kashipur was involved with. They participated actively in campus initiatives and helped students in placements as well in their network/ organizations. We also have a dedicated Alumni fund which is used for student welfare activities and timely contributions are made from seniors/ alums in this regard.
