Admission is based upon NEET score and the process is controlled via Karnataka Examinations Authority. I got this college in final round of counselling based on my NEET score. Admission is done via college after getting the seat. Application is through KEA website. Application process is easy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose MBBS because I wanted to become a cardiologist since childhood. Faculty: student ratio is perfect here. There are more than 20 professors in one department. Teaching is in English but you have to learn Kannada for easier communication. Term exams are on time and they are moderately difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Most of the students do their here at the college Hospital. The patient load is very high . So we get to improve our skills very nicely. Many options are available. The seniors and professor guide us properly during our internship.
Placement Experience
As it is a medical college we do our internship here at the college hospital only. There is no placements in MBBS. Most of the students opt to study further and do their postgraduation after leaving here. The majority of students get PG seats in good colleges after studying here. I also intend to do the same.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for Karnataka natives is very low but for people who go through NEET, the fee is quite high. The total fee for my complete course is around 35 lakhs. There will be no stipend during an internship as well. Fees increase slightly every year.
Campus Life
Social life is great here. The town is not that big. So you won't feel the rush of big cities here and that's comforting for me. Other than that regular events are organized by Student Union. So you get to enjoy plenty of events throughout the academic year. There are various options for sport activities as well.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is of two types. One of the option is cheap accommodation which costs around 45000 per year. The other hostel is costlier but is filled with facilities like gym, washing machine, air condition, gyser, attached bathroom, clean and calm environment. It costs 80000 for double room and around 1 lakh per year for a single room.
