Remarks
DU-JAT (as a part of DUET) is conducted every year in order to avail admission into two courses from SSCBS (Bachelor of Management Studies and BBA-FIA). Along with your merit registration, you have to register for this entrance exam and secure a rank up to 160-170 (in order to be eligible for BMS; BFIA has lesser seats so you need to score even better). Beyond these ranks, there are other colleges that you can get for courses like BMS, BBE etc. You can check out more information on DU's website or SSCBS's website
Course Curriculum Overview
I gained interest and developed an inclination towards management because a) I graduated from the commerce stream and there was more to business studies that was left to be explored b) My ambitions resonated with pursuing a comprehensive management degree like BMS, which could tell me more about the functions of management so that later on I can base out my decision on the domain I want to go into. The curriculum and pedagogy is great, there's great emphasis on Academics and Internals (which you don't usually see in some of the other colleges) with exams being held as per Delhi University's academic calendar, you get ample time to prepare.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities come in different seasons and sometimes there are also a couple of live projects. These companies have also been offering PPOs to candidates as well. Stipends offered are different, pertaining to the company and the role, some pay nominal amounts whereas companies like D.E. Shaw and McKinsey offer amazing stipends!
Placement Experience
Students can sit for placements by qualifying the minimum criteria pertaining to attendance/GPA. The placements are great (89-95% batch gets placed). You can check out the placement reports on SSCBS's LinkedIn or website. There are multiple companies that come in or have come. In 2020-21, the highest package was 19.25 LPA and gross offers neared 17 crores
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is good as per Delhi University and great as per value for money, the average package here goes around 8.35 lpa, so considering this, for a nominal amount of 14k/10k per year is tremendous (but obviously you have to put in the efforts) There are financial assistance programs available as well, for which you can check out SSCBS's website. Many students have availed those
Campus Life
The campus is located in Rohini, Delhi which is 20-30 minutes away from the University Hub of North Campus, so it's a quick ride in a metro. Rohini does have only limited food hubs and recreational activities but this location helps us students open for other spots as well. The societies are great, there are 35+ societies where if you invest the right amount of effort and time, you'll be well-rounded (note: I haven't mentioned that more the time and effort, more the efforts) There is an annual fest, named Crescendo; it doesn't grab all the biggies but for standup comics, we brought in Rahul Subramaniam and Rahul Dua the last time (pre-covid). There are also football and cricket teams, plus a decent ground for football specifically with an open gym in the same space (it doesn't intrude so don't worry) The classrooms are TOP-NOTCH. Just search for some images and you'll get to know what I'm talking about
