Remarks
Sophia was not my first choice. I was enrolled in siddhart college which was not upto my expectations. In the final merit list, I was granted admission to Sophia college for women(autonomous). I had opted for the arts stream which had the criteria of atleast 70% in the 10th std. The college office had a list of students who were given a chance to get into this college. Only those students were given the admission forms. The staff was very helpful and guided me really well through the process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was really intrested in English literature and there was no better option than sophia for an all girls college. The arts section in the college is best known for. The teaching staff is extremely helpful in all ways. The professors try to give their attention to every student. The syllabus was quite different from other colleges as it was autonomous. It was very creative keeping in mind the future studies of the students. The exams were difficult but it also trained out minds and helped us to have for best foot forward. The quality of teaching is extremwly good. I was personally very satisfied with the qualitg.
Internships Opportunities
The college has a number of companies that provide internships for students. The internship is distributed according to the streams. The messages are sent out to students personally to apply for these internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is an all-girls college the fee in the junior college is under 500. The degree programme fee goes upto 5000-6000. The Christian minority is given preference and scholorship programms are for all students.
Campus Life
Kalidoscope is the annual fest. It is conducted in October. The atmosphere is fun and very delightful. The library is huge and has a number of research books and journals. There are also audio-visual rooms. A newspaper section is also available. Basketball, football, fencing are available in college. The different types of clubs available rotract club, SIGMA, sports club and many more. There is only one official website of the college. There are different Instagram handles present which are handled by the students.
