SVNIT is government institute. so all norms of government colleges are applied here management is quite strict in case of discipline and academics.

I qualified GATE 2011. I secured 65 marks. My All India rank was around 1200. This college is having very good reputation at national level and placement of mechanical engineering branch is overwhelming. Thatswhy i opted this college.

The course curriculum was practical oriented. Faculties are having vast knowledge and are having international profile. All laboratories are having advanced equipment and research work is at peek in field of CAD/CAM in all India.Subjects syllabus is made such that student will have potential according to industrial requirements.

Yes it provides summer internship. Stipined depends upon the project cost. Generally Junior research fellowships are given 16000 and senior research fellowships are given 25000.

For mechanical engineering it is having 200% placement. MNCs like Infosys, TCS, L&T, Hero, Honda, Tata steel, and reputed firms hire students. M.tech students are hired by institutions also.Some PSUs like powergrid, GSRF, SAIL, ONGC also hire students.

SVNIT is quite supportive for student activities. They celebrate Sparsh as a cultural fest every year. Following events are held: Informal Events Technical Events, Managerial Events, Night Events, Social Causes, Mega Attractions, Lectures, Workshops & Exhibitions, School Events except that as independence day, republic day, alumni day, world environment day and other events are held at big scale.

Fees is quite economical. in my time it as around 30000 for sem and hostel. It can be easily maintained from M.tech Stipined, so no load to parent. But in comparison of other NITs it is a little bit high.It includes tuition fees, library fees, admission fees, alumni fee (one time), institute development fees and security deposit. For B.tech it is around 80000 for a year.

In have no idea about loan facility but i guess it will there . because some other state students are having trouble in paying fees as a government institute. They are having SBI branch within campus so i think they will provide loan. but there are good bit of scholarships available for SC/ST and OBC students and for the general category too.

Exam is carried out in two phases, In first two months they take unit test of 30 marks. Time duration for that is 1 Hr. in main exam it is of 100 marks and exam duration is 3Hrs. Generally they ask 6 questions in unit tet and 10 questions in final exam.

After qualifying for GATE 2011, i filled form of CCMT 2012. It was centralized counseling scheme for all NITs. Its fees was 1000 Rs. It was having 4 rounds. In second round i got this college and branch by merit preferences. I filled 32 choices. I got my 16th choice.

Faculties are having vast knowledge and are having international profile. They attract international projects and include their Phd and masters students in the projects. Faculties are having almost 25 years of experience. Almost all faculties are supportive to students and their activities.
