Honest FDDI review ( being a present student)

The admission process is simple and easy. An AIST exam is conducted and shortlisted students have to choose in between the various specializations like footwear design, fashion design, leather design, and many more depending on the highest rank. There are around 50 seats in footwear design including quota. This college provides practical knowledge useful for any industry.

I chose footwear design and production as my specialization because of my interest in the particular subject. The faculty is well educated and skilled and they provide us with every possible practical world knowledge. The exams include theoretical and practical out of which the theoretical is easier as compared to practical.

The college does not provide internships , that has to be done by the students itself by resources, although faculty helps to attain the full knowledge about the practicality of the selected specialisation and suggests the internship opportunities. The stipends depens on the work and skills of one.

Till now, being a 3rd-year student, I have heard of various companies which come to college for campus placement, including Sketchers, Bata, Titan, etc are the prominent recruiters. The most placement is from the merchandise and production department with an average package of 5-6 lakhs.

The fees of this goverment institution is less as compared to other national institutions like NIFT. For me as a day scholar it cost around 6 lakhs excluding the travelling charge. Every year there is some hike in the fees.

Due to covid, there were no freshers for our juniors as of now. But with previous experience, official Freshers was conducted for us, which was on a medium scale at our campus itself. There are plenty of books and journals in the library, one can issue and return as per convenience. The classrooms in the new building have working air conditions and the other classrooms do not have this facility. Annual sports events, Design competitions are conducted for the students to grab some opportunities with price money also. There are various societies at the college and one can choose from dramatics to cultural society as per interest.
