I had qualified GATE entrance in 2016 and score 398. Gauhati University is the oldest and best university in the entire north-east. Gauhati University has more than 30 departments and known for its quality education. It is located in the capital city of Assam and have a very beautiful campus. Railway Station and Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is near by it. Its one of the best University of India i have visited in my life.

Course curriculum is very good and subject are discussed in depth with proper examples. It also focuses on research oriented topics and students are encouraged to publish their own papers. All research papers are easily accessible through university website using student login id and hard copy is also available in the library. Sunday's

Yes, Gauhati University is providing internship to its students but it is selective to some department only. Stipend is very good as compared to other university.

Gauhati University has its own active placement cell and many companies are actively associated with the Gauhati University. Jaloni is actively recruiting Gauhati University students and offering upto 6 lakh package. Companies like Vodafone, Airtel, Reliance etc is also recruiting students.

List of events are as follows Technofest, Bihu festival, Youth festival, General Elections, Saraswati Puja, Biswakarma Puja, Annual Day, Convocation Day. Inspite of this events the various departments of the university is also organise 1-2 week workshop.

SC, ST, OBC and Minority students are getting scholarship and also some other scholarship is also given by the Gauhati University. Some other scholarship is also provided by central and State government.

Few years back Boys ratio are more as compared to Girls. But from the last two years Girls are managed to secure more seats as compared to boys. Now the Girls ratio is almost 3:1 as compared to boys.

Exams and labs are not very frequent as compared to other university. Students can get sufficient time for their other activity. Labs and classes are properly managed so that students can get enough time for lunch and other activity. Each semester has mainly one exam at the end and has two class test.

For Admission first online or offline form to be submitted in the Gauhati University. After that Student has to sit for an entrance exam. Then Students are selected on the basis of their entrance exam and academic performance. After selection Students are required to take admission in their respective departments.

Gauhati University Faculties are very highly qualified and experienced. All Faculties have their personal university mail id through which students can communicate anytime. Faculties can be easily accessible in their respective departments. Most faculties are staying in university quarter so interaction can be made easily if any students required any guidance during holidays.
