Remarks

I applied for COEP college and PICT college but did'nt got admission there because of my percentile. The minimum percentile for admission in VIIT college is about 80 percentile and 18yrs age. The admission process is through CAP rounds (Central Admission Process) as well as the spot rounds. There are 2 rounds of CAP and in then the last spot round the seats which are available after the CAP are filled and the cut-off varries in about 1 percentile. The admission can be done by both CET and JEE marks. The quota for CET is 80% where as that for JEE is 20% available.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Currently my course is Computer Engineering and I chose this course due to my interest in it and it will help me in the future for my further studies. Faculty student ratio is about 1:65 The faculty members are very well skilled and very knowledgeable and the teaching method is fabolous. Within a semester there are 2 exams - Insem and endsem and it is quite difficult to pass because students needs to study a lot more for it.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies such as Infosys, Deutchbank, Persistent, and many more offer jobs as well as internship opportunities in VIIT college. Roles such as Software designer, software developer, graphic designer, campus ambassador, and many more are being offered by several companies. Projects are being conducted every semester within computer software and languages which intern boosts the enthusiasm and knowledge.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 4th Year the students are eligible for campus placements. Some of the names of companies are Deutchbank, TCS, Infosys, Persistent. The highest package is about 25lakhs per annum and the minimum package is about 3 lakhs per annum. About 75%+ students get placed every year and similarly get internship opportunities. My plan after getting the degree is to study MS in foreign countries.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is Rs 1,68,736 per year which is okay according to the course and facilities. There are some scholarships available for engineering students and several internship opportunities for students to enrinch their experience and knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The part of the curriculum that inspired me to take up this course is definitely applied mathematics as engineering has a lot of math integrated in it and helps the student to improve his/her logic and problem solving skills which are very important in today's job market. Some areas where I'd like the syllabus to improve are NEP related subjects like PPS, Indian Knowledge System etc. These courses are not related to the major but are included because of the New Education Policy(NEP). I feel that most of these courses are a complete waste of time and can be replaced by better courses.
