Remarks

You can get into Nitk through JEE Mains. For computer science, the general rank should be below 2000 and with the home state quota, it can go upto 3500 for which you need about 99.7 percentile. Counseling is online through JOSAA

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose computer science. Nitk has one of the best faculty and alumni. Teaching is very good and we also have assistant lecturers who help us through the course. Timely quizzes and exams help in understanding and gripping the concepts. The quizzes are easy to pass if listened to in class but to score high goa you need to work hard

Internships Opportunities

There are many internship opportunities and even GSOC. With a good stipend. Even many projects are done to improve skills and intership is provided by various companies and this also helps students gain various skills.

Placement Experience

The placements are very great. Computer science has 100% placements with an average package of 20 LPA and for all branches, placements were about 88% with an average package of 13 LPA. Even there are good opportunities for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are not too high. If you have a low income you can get fee exemption and scholarships. Merit-based scholarships are given every year by the college and you can also apply for various other scholarships. Hostel fee is also affordable.

Campus Life

The incident is the cultural fest in Nitk. And there are other technical fests. Very efficient library along with the digital library. The classrooms are great. There are sports grounds, a swimming pool,indoor sports and gym. There are many technical and cultural clubs.

Hostel Facilities

Wifi is provided and they have 2 sharing and single rooms. The meal is good not so great. Hostels are clean and affordable. It's better to stay at a hostel than PG as you can get socialized with many and even focus on studies and improve skills.

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people.
