Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is updated every 4-5 years and what we learn here is in par with the current working standards. The faculty student ratio at NITR is great with 1:17 ratio as per my knowledge. All the faculties are highly trained and are expert researchers in their field. Everyone has a doctoral degree and have set up their own research labs in our institute taking doctoral students under their wing every year.Exams are also average to go through!

Placement Experience
Just the name of this premier institution is enough. It has a great placement drive and many people are recruited in major top companies with placements as high as 50 lakhs per annum. The average median range of salary people get is 10lpa.But most of the people also go for higher studies in many foreign reputed universities owing to the strong inclination towards research in our institute.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure is wholesome and there are a lot of endowment funds and scholarships for financially weaker students.Mostly the funding come from our worldwide base of alumni. So there will be every available options for financial assistantship from the institute. Campus job is however not available as per my knowledge.
Campus Life
There are over 60+ clubs at NIT Rourkela registered under 4 societies:-1. Literary and Cultural Society2. Sports and Games Society3. Technical Society4. Film and Music SocietyAll these societies comes under Student Activity Center (SAC), NITRThe library system is automated and has a world-class system of management. There are many hundred thousands books at our library which is known globally as the Biju Pattnaik Central Library.NITR is a 600+ acre campus then there are like all kinds of Olympic size sports complex available on this institute.
Hostel Facilities
There are 8 hostels for males and 2 for female.Each hostel is a big complex with its own sports complex, gym, day and night canteens which runs 24*7 and shopping complexes.The halls of accommodations are huge with single room facility available for everyone. That room is also spacious and fully furnished from top down with everything. Mess food is really good with assorted items of food available. Per day 4 meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. And you can take as much you can from so many options (7-8 items per day). For non-veg there is 6 times per week you can get.Water supply, electricity, internet and other amenities are available 24*7.
Admission
JEE Mains exam is all that is required to go secure an admission. Even then its a highly competitive national level exam, and NIT Rourkela being one of the best institutes of national importance the entry is difficult. You have to score really good marks in the entrance to get through.Then there would be a counselling session where you can apply for with sufficient marks above cutoff.
