Remarks
I had applied to the 2-year full-time flagship MBA equivalent PGP course in all the 20 IIMs in the country. The admission criteria followed was in a manner common to all the IIMs i.e. several eligibility criteria and further stages in the selection process were similar. All the IIMs individually except a group of 9 IIMs under the CAP declared the first shortlist for the PI process (they scrapped the WAT round owing to the covid pandemic). Each of the IIMs had its own criteria for computing the composite score to give PI shortlist to the candidates. The entire PI process was virtual with a panel of 2 members.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for the PGP course at IIM Indore since it is the flagship MBA program. The course curriculum is designed in industry-oriented and owning to the contemporary corporate world needs. It constitutes of courses from Accounts & finance, economics, operations & supply chain, Statistics, Information systems for the managers, critical thinking and analytical skills for the managers, etc to equip the participants with the requisite fundamental management domains. The student-teacher ratio is pretty fair for the smooth functioning of the classroom session. The institute has internationally and nationally qualified faculty members with intensive teaching experience to deliver a quality, unmatched experience to the participants. The assessment of the course has been designed in a structured and comprehensive manner to evaluate the participants' learnings in the classrooms. Numerous methods of evaluations i.e. class participation, quizzes, assignments, group case analysis & submissions, etc.
Internships Opportunities
The institute offers the opportunity to the participants to get internships at numerous corporate during its summers placement season for the first-year PGP participants. Companies from FMCG, General Management, Automobiles, Banking, and financial services, IT, and analytics offer job roles in wide domains to the students.
Placement Experience
The institute offers great placement opportunities to the participants of the courses during the 2 year-long MBA program. We have numerous marquee recruiters offering excellent job roles i.e. in the core of the different domains sales & marketing, finance, general management, product management, etc. The information relating to the nature, no. of the recruiters along with the job roles offered are published on the institute website after the successful completion of the recruitment process i.e. both summers and final placements. The Insitute has 100% placement of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The campus has comprehensive and well-defined fees structures for the fees charged from the participants. It includes every single element from tuition fees to hostel and mess charges and allied charges. It is reasonable for the quality of living and teaching experience to the students over the course of 2 years. The Institue offers need-based financial assistance to the needy and meritorious students depending upon their family income and assets value. Additionally, various other banks and company-sponsored scholarship schemes are there to assist students financially.
Campus Life
The campus has a pretty rich and lively atmosphere. There is significant hustle and bustle on the campus for the entire year. We have numerous fests Utasaha, IRIS, i5 summit to name a few which not only act as a window into the corporate world but also offer a great forum to lead and enjoy. We have a huge library containing books and journals from diverse genres. The classrooms are well equipped with all the modern facilities to teach both in the offline and virtual context to the participants. We have the state-of-the-art infrastructure for the sports facilities and other allied activities at the campus. Numerous students run social services groups and societies operate to take the classroom learnings and collective efforts of the students to the needy.
Interview Experience
Owning to the current novel coronavirus pandemic situation, the entire selection process was online with 2 member interview panel. The WAT round was scrapped. The interview process had questions from basic HR, domain-specific questions from the undergraduate background, basic economics and commerce-related questions, current affairs, guess estimates, and extempore.
