IIM Indore Review

After cleared the CAT exam, I got a call from IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, and IIM Indore for the interview. I choose IIM Indore as it is one of the oldest colleges and its campus infrastructure drew my attention especially Planet I (a campus environment structure).

There are three terms in one year that is PGP 1 and PGP 2 and a total of 6 terms in 2 years in MBA. The course curriculum is not centered on any specific subject instead it is the combination of all subjects where we learn each subject level by level throughout without skipping any. And in the 2nd year, you have the choice to select the course and apart from that, you can choose electives that are not related to the core MBA. For example, you can learn finance even if you took marketing earlier. Faculties are very cool and they have done FPM (Fellowship program) where they have done their MBA and Ph.D. program. Faculties are well experienced, they are from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, etc.

I do have attended one summer internship recently in Philips, Philips city and it was a good experience. Being an engineer, it was quite challenging for me going into a finance role at Philips but somehow I managed it and now I am waiting for the internship.

Actually, the Fee structure vary every year. But in my case, the total fee for the two years is approx 17 lakhs including hostel fee up to 5th sem but it's not applicable for the students who have applied for the Foreign Exchange Program. Recently, I have attended one summer internship in Philips, Philips city and it was a good experience. Being an engineer, it is quite challenging going in a finance role in Philips but somehow I managed it and waiting for the internship. During the lockdown, I have spent two terms in our home taking online courses so I have missed a lot of opportunities to get together in college for any kind of program, but there were few of the events we have managed to participate online. After this lockdown, as we are in college now we are allowed to gather in college for events like game wars, dance, singing completion, and some task-based team games between the sections but with restrictions like not more than 50 candidates at one time that to wearing masks. Speaking about social life, there is a donation camp in the college for dogs where you can have a dog for 1 or 2 hours, feed them donate whatever amount you want after leaving them.

Hostel facilities are very great, single spacious rooms are for every student with cool facilities, and college mess is also providing varieties of both South Indian North Indian food alternatively not being biased on any region.

I appeared for the CAT exam and as per its cutoff criteria, I got a call from the college for an interview. In the interview, I was asked technical questions regarding my academic degree and especially they asked that why MBA is important to me despite having a mechanical degree.
