Remarks

I applied For NIT Rourkela through my jossa/csab counseling by EWS quota. For admission to this college you need to secure at least 75%mark in 12th if you are in central board else if you are in other Board you need to come in Top 20 percent student and then you need to secure good percentile in jee Main more than 96%ile for another state. For taking admission to Food Process Engineering Branch you need to secure more than 96%ile in jee main and then take part in jossa/csab counseling.

I choose Food Proces Engineering Branch because this course has a very vast scope in future and also in present, In upcoming time No one wants to make food in their home they all depend on market food so in this course you get properly structured syllabus that helps you to grow healthy and Nutritional Food. In this branch have a very good scope of startup .here faculty is soo good they act like they are your friend If you feel any problem you can definitely share with him they will surely help you, faculty: student ratio is 1:14 .here all faculty done their Ph.D .you can also see their detail on college site. The end sem of odd sem (1st,3rd,5th,7th sem) occurs in the month of DEC and even sem occur in the month of June-July. here passing exam is not too hard you need to attend a regular class and give proper attention you will definitely pass exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here Fee structure is divided into three grp if your family income is less than 1lath then you gout full tuition fee remission,if your family income is b/w 1lakh to 5lakh then you got 2/3 rd remission in your tuition fee this is for general and obc candidate and full fee remission for sc/st caste people.

Campus Life

Here you find very good infrastructure and you will definitely enjoy four years of your college .you can find around 75 clubs that help in overall growth .here you find a central library there more than 80000 books are present. FEST you find two types of fest cultural and technical fest. Innovision is a tech-fest and NITrutsav is a cultural fest .in cultural fest you can find the top singer of Bollywood who performs here like Sonu Nigam, Gajendra Verma.. Here you find Two big stadiums with floodlights you can play your game there and there is an Olympic size swimming pool is also present. Monday Morning is a student media body that runs by college students in this you find all detail and information about the college.

Hostel Facilities

In the first and second year, you get double seater room and after 3rd year as your choice, you can get single and double seater room.Their meal is average it mostly depends on which hostel you are allowed. if you are a non-vegetarian then you get non-veg 6days a week. It is mandatory for you to take hostel outside residential students is not allowed.

Our college give good placement but packages are very low package start with 150000 and end in 700000 . But you study properly then you try pursuing higher studies. 40% students placed but below 400000 . after completing you try off campus placement then you secured good salary on good company.

placements are average...not feels like an iit but its ok ...this yaer percentage of placement was 90% and highest ctc was of 67.4 LPA with median of 12LPA and average of 17 LPA ...most of the placements for SDE roles. My plan is to finish my degree as soon as possible and get placed for a SDE role so that i can survive

The placement stats of IIT Bhubaneswar are quite good. For the 2025 placement season, the highest CTC was 67.6 LPA and the mean CTC was 14.5 LPA, with a total of 22 PPO offers. Approximately 90% students were placed this year. Major recruiters were Google, Oracle, Zomato, Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA and Meesho. This year, there were 5 international offers (4 from Accenture Japan and 1 core offer from Niterra Japan).

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

Placement Experience:

So the students become eligible for placemant usually from the 7th semester of the Btech which is from the 4th year and the internship opportunities are available from the 3rd year onwards that is from 5th and 6th semester. So in year 2024-25 the number of companies that visited The campus is around 330 And the total job offers offered is about 1200. So the highest package in the EC branch is about 1.2 crore per annum and the average package for the EC branch is around 13 to 14 lakhs. And the Profile of jobs are core electronics, VLSI and semiconductor roles ,system and embedded developments, software engineering, IT services, consulting and analytics. The percentage of student which are getting placed are in the range of 90 to 99% for ECE branch. The top recruiters are Apple Google, Microsoft, Amazon, wipro, Deloitte, Tata,Vedanta etc. After completing my degree in ECE from NIT Rourkela my plan is to join the core technology sector as a VLSI and semiconductor engineer in a reputed multinational Companies, leveraging the strong foundation and industrial exposure gained during my studies in case I do not secure a campus placement I aim to pursue the off campus opportunities in electronics, IT or analytics sectors. Alternatively I am open to perceive higher studies in MBA to specialize in the management sector.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is descent. Some of the student opt for higher studies. Almost 80% get placed with good packages.some goes for gate exam. I also know a senior who have gate AIR of 42. I am planning for gate along with my degree.companies like Hpcl , cpcl, exon mobil usually come here for recruiting.

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. Everything about NIT ROURKELA ( campus life, placements, fees )

The best aspects of the college is the campus. It's the second largest campus in India. A lush green campus with a very good mess facilities. The buildings are great. Hostels are also good. Evrything about infrastructure was a plus point. Only negative point is the non availability of airport due to which some companies refuse to come a pick students.
