Remarks

In Jadavpur University admission takes place through WBJEE exam. Counseling was on online mode and there was an additional spot round. Additionally, there was physical and document verification happened

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I'm currently studying Production Engineering at Jadavpur and I found the course is very knowledgeable . If someone wants the learn the core of industrial engineering he/she will definitely find this course very helpful. After completing the course one can sit in GATE in both PRODUCTION and MECHANICAL branch. Exams are not very tough . If one study little bit he/she can easily score 8 cgpa. Passing marks in 40% only.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships are mainly offered in the software and consulting domain and they are not much in numbers. In my discipline companies like PWC, Tata lang products provided internship this year. But in departments like CSE, IT , lot of internship offer has been provided. Amazon, Microsoft, Code Nation" and some other big tech giants came to provide internships and some of them allowed all the departments to seat for the recruitment process.

Placement Experience

4

Placement has been great this year. I'm studying production engineering this year. So far around 32 students has been placed out of 45 students. Placement was mostly offered by the software and consultancy companies. PWC, Capgemini, BridgeI2i, OPTUM, INCREFF, LTI, PayU, Infosys, Wipro Turbo, Gupshup, Airbus are the companies came so far. Gupshup provided the highest package as Software Development Engineer (28 lpa )(CTC). Core competencies are yet to come at the end of October. Around 85% students of the batch is expected to be placed in the year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total frees for 8 years is Rs 10000 only. Scholarship opportunities are there for the financially weak students. As I'm a general category student I'm not aware of the whole scenario. As far as the placement is concerned no financial assistance is provided as everyone is given equal opportunity.

Campus Life

3.5

Tech fest "Srijan" and cultural fest " Sanskriti" has been conducted every year . Books and journals are available in the library and it has a wide range of collection. It also has the facility with a digital library. It has almost 15 clubs ( painting clubs, music club, drama club , science club, motorsports clubs, mountaineering clubs) so there is no short of extracurricular activities. Cricket, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis sports are being played here and competitions are organized every year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
