Remarks

I applied for Nit through CCMT round. Following are my preference for admission: Nit Trichy,nit Warangal,nit surathkal,nit nagpur and then nit surat. I got a nit surat for MTech in soil mechanics and foundation engineering. my gate score was 348 in Gate 2018. For admission... simple we have to verify our documents only if we got any seats through the CCMT portal.

Course Curriculum Overview

Soil mechanics and foundation engineering come under civil engineering. It has wide scope in research, teaching, and consultancy. All faculty members are very high qualified from top colleges of India as well as from foreign universities.term exams are not so much difficult but there is no gap between 2 papers.

Class Size: 18Course Fees: INR 70000 per year

Placement Experience

After the 1st year of MTech .... Companies are coming for you with a good package. for soil mechanics students, the highest package was 7lak per annum and 5 lakh is the least package. There is 70-80 percent of students got placed in good companies. I am interested in a government job so I prepared for that.I will do a government job after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you clear the gate exam...you will gate 12400 per month. For SC, St candidates there is no tuition fee but you have to pay mess and hostel fees. My some friends got jobs in TCE and L and T. There are a lot of companies that are coming into colleges to recruit.

Campus Life

In sports...there are tournaments of cricket, table tennis, chess, badminton, etc.MMCT tournament which is a very big tournament of cricket. There are also some groups that teach to kids who are in slum areas and giving funds to them. There are also drama, dance and many more clubs.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are very good. Good wifi connection. Good maintenance. Study rooms, canteen in a hostel, computer rooms, reading rooms, table tennis, tv rooms are there to entertain you. Food quality is good. separate food for Jain candidates also. But mess doesn't provide nonveg food to you. All hostels is situated on colleges campuses only.

A Life at SVNIT

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from 1st sem itself.Companies like John deer ,Bajaj, Mahindra , Akash institute ,Unacademy (Ed tech platform) visited our campus for our branch.For Civil branch , L and T ,Linde,Midas e.t.c companies visited.For electrical and electronics ,HP,Intel,Microsoft e.t.c visited. Highest package offered was Rs 40 lpa. and average package is Rs 6 lpa.Mostly companies are offering role of PGET .Approximate 70% students got placement through campus.I got placed in Unacademy as a educator of NEET physics with a package of Rs 10 lpa.

The only thing good amidst the chaos is the management but yes they do lack time management. We are there for 10.5 hrs but we think that most of the time there are things that we can get done from home but yet we are made to sit there because attendance carries marks.

Honestly, i had applied so many NITs but due to my average score in JEE MAINS , i was getting only SVNIT and some Northen east NITs I did not choose other NITs as they are very far apart from my home state. I chose SVNIT just because this is one of the best college for transportation engineering.
