Remarks
The admission process was very smooth. I wanted to pursue my graduation in Tourism. Ramnarain Ruia College was one such college which was providing this degree. The faculty members explained the admission process and documentation. The program that I opted for had no restriction on age, eligibility criteria were minimum of 50% in 12th. The entire admission process was very systematic and got completed in one day itself.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that I opted for was BVoc Tourism and Travel Management. It's a unique course and I always wanted to do something different. My passion to travel helped me to enjoy this course. The class strength was of maximum 30 students. We had two faculty members and four visiting faculty members. All the faculty members were experienced in their field and helped us throughout our course. There were two semesters in a year. A total of six semesters as it was a three years course. The exams were not that difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
The internship was offered by multi[ple companies such as Lotus DMC, SOTC, Veena World, Yatra.com, Roles offered were such as Travel Executive, Asst Tour Manager, Travel Consultant, Quotations, Guest Relation, etc
Placement Experience
The college offers paid internships from third semester. There were multiple companies such as Veena World, Red Apple Travel, Yatra.com, SOTC Travel, Shrine DMC, Lotus DMC, and many others which visited our college for placements.The highest package offered was INR 2,00,000 p.a. for Travel Executive 80% of the students were placed succesfully from my batch. After getting my degree I joined immediately with Red Apple Travel.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is moderate. the college fees were INR 20,000 per year with a hike every year. The college also provided internships with a stipend of around INR 3500. The college has a placement cell as well. I got my first full time job at Red Apple Travel with salary of INR 15000 per month.
Campus Life
Ruia college is known for its campus. Every graduate has a fond memory of the campus. Ruia college offers excellent facilities right from library, infrastructure, sports activities, cultural events like Utsav Arohan. You name it and Ruia college has it all. It's a home for arts and literature. Many theatre actors establish themselves here. The college has a separate student development body as well.
