Entrance Preview

KIIT University conducts its own entrance examination called KIITEE. I wanted to pursue Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, I scored a 1011 General category ALL INDIA Rank, which made it possible for me to get the desired branch. Since, CSE is one of the best disciples one can pursue in KIIT University.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, KIIT University provides Summer Internship to 3rd year students. Wide range of companies such as Dell , Amazon ,VMWare, Paytm along with various other startup based companies visit the campus for Internship drives. Apart from the Training and Placement Cell , the KIIT Entrepreneurial Cell organises Internship Camps to provide paid as well as unpaid internships for students.

Placement Experience

5

Placement and Job is the supposedly the prime attraction of KIIT University. KIIT is undoubtedly one of the best deemed universities when it comes to placements. You name a company , it's there the next day. To begin with , Dell , Deloitte , Mu Sigma , Amazon , IBM , Accenture , Barclays, SAP Labs , Huawei , Inautix, Directi , VMWare, Infosys , Wipro , Cognizant , CGI , Tech Mahindra , Shapoorji Pallonji , TVS Motors.

College Events

5

There is always some event or another going on in any one of the schools. Every school hosts its own conferences and workshops , KIIT FEST is the annual Techno-Management Fest of KIIT University ,it is open to all students in and out of KIIT University. It's a 3 day event , with numerous exciting events , gala parties and fun. It is a huge and a very high budget event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is considerably high. It is 12 lpa for 2017 passout batch B.Tech. It has increased in the subsequent years. For the 2013-2017 batch the fees structure is 2,50,000 per year which makes it 10,00,000 in four years. In a year , the 2 semesters are Autumn(Odd Semester) and the Spring(Even Semester) and the fees is distributed as 1,95,000 and 55,000 respectively among the semesters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn't organise any loan facility for students , whereas toppers of KIITEE and toppers of every branch is given a scholarship on the tuition fee only. I have availed for a Student Education loan of half of the tuition fee. Any candidate can avail a similar one by opening an account in the respective bank.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is awesome! There is a 50-50 gender distribution overall , a little less in core engineering branches , which is purely due to interest issues. Otherwise, the gender ratio is 1:1. We have multiple gyms, swimming pools , indoor and outdoor stadiums inside the campus , along with a common KIIT Student Activity Centre(KSAC).

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are good as compared to other Engineering colleges. We have 24 hours of Wifi connection , Electricity , Inductions in every floor for self cooking, Water Supply and regular Maid Service which is included along with 2 meals the lunch and dinner and the breakfast and snacks. Mess food is not too good , but changes when complained.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is hyperactive, alumni meets are organised mostly in all the metropolitan cities. Seniors are very helpful in every possible way , it's an icing on the cake when alumnis refer deserving juniors for Internships, from my personal account. There's no senior-junior propaganda in or outside the campus, all are treated equally.

Exam Structure

It is neither too hectic nor completely chilled. We have a semester based concept , which is 2 semesters per year , one mid terminal and one final end semester exam. Mid semester consists of 25 marks and end sem of 60 marks, the other 15 is class tests, assignments or presentations or any other group activity.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The technical background and future influenced me to choose this course. The preparation for real-world applications or further academic pursuits are average. Theres no fair improvement needed in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The frequency of the exams are 2 sem exams and 4 quiz in class exams. The timings for sem exams are 3 hours while for quiz tests its 30 minutes. The difficulty level is average of all the exams

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
