Entrance Preview

I have taken admission on the basis of the marks scored in a Diploma. I have got 81.94% in my diploma in mechanical engg. so i put the name of WIT, Solapur in the CAP round. and hopefully got the admission here. I opted this college because of the reasons- It is a best college in Maharashtra for the one who scored 82% in diploma.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm in mechanical engineering so i have the basic course of mechanical engineering along with other subjects from electrical and electronics dept. and also the advance computers technologies like c, c++, java languages, the software like matlab, scilab, cad, catia, etc. overall the curriculum is well sufficient to full fill the requirements of the industries.

Internships Opportunities

Yes it does my college provide internship to the students which are in second year onward .The college have well industrial linkage so we get benefited with that.

Placement Experience

4.5

As i said earlier my college have won the title of best industry linked award for three consecutive years. So there is huge placement opportunities here for the students. Every year almost 60-70% students get job every year. The big companies like tata technologies, infosys, precision camshaft, mahindra and mahindra.

College Events

3

The events like Aavishkar, atharv, witchar, sports events, engg youth festivals. Atharv is cultural and sports event like annual gathering. In WITCHAR we introduce the magzine of our college. In that various arts and achievements of the students have detected.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship like EBC , minority are given to the students. also there is a separate charitable trust of our college to help the the students from economically backward background.

4

Gender ratio is about 40-60 . 40 girls and 60 boys out of 100 students. Campus life is good, extracurricular activities like debates, group discussions, aptitude tests, sports events for various levels, and various core branches events like lathe war etc.

Exam Structure

Exams are categorised into three mid term exams and one final exam at the end of semester. We have semester pattern so we have two main exams each year. After every month there is a midterm exam to analyse the progress of students. There is no such a thing like annoyance of exam of hectic. We enjoy the exams because ultimately they are for our benefit and progress.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
