Remarks
Main Factors - Course, Placements, Research, opportunities. I appeared for GATE Mechanical and based on my score I was allotted VNIT in Cap round. Since this college is in Nagpur, which has good number of industries and is a big city in terms of opportunities, I decided to go with it.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is excellent. Since I was admitted in online mode, practical exposure was little hampered, but regular industrial courses are offered for free to students from SIEMENS Center of Excellence which is in campus. Professors are cool from Mechanical Department and I never felt like I am being pressurized or something. Few of them are so good, if you maintain good connection with them, they will share useful resources and guide you for future opportunities. Talking about exams, of course they were online this time, but camera was on and we were being monitored by the professors and their PhDs.
Placement Experience
For Btech placements are very good. For Mtech they are very less, although from this year TnP is trying to arrange training courses for students about programming, communications skills and trying to contact many companies. VNIT also has an ecell, so if you have an idea, you can launch a startup also. Many PhDs have started their companies here.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Placement is good. One must have good programming skills, it becomes easy to get into a company. Internships also offer a good stipend and visit campus frequently. MTech placements are a little less and it is a matter of concern. Not all get placed.
Campus Life
There are clubs on campus. IvLabs is a robotics club and has good number of resources. Other clubs also exist. We can have free access to journals, research papers from library online from anywhere.
