Remarks

The curriculum of this college is modern and to the point. You don't need to go with the physics , chemistry, engineering drawing etc(which is not at all important for a CSE student).It Focuses on the development part as well as data structures and problem solving skills in cse. Professors are highly educated and skilled. Ready to listen your problems and doubts. Seniors are very helpful and are ready to guide you anytime. The technical club is highly active and coding culture is great. Coming to the campus, located in god's land Kerela and is very well built.Since the infrastructure is new, the hostels are well maintained and the classrooms are also spacious. High speed wifi connectivity is available in all areas of campus. Sports facilities are also available.The cultural club is highly active and you will get a lot to explore here. Placements are fair enough, the avg package for the last batch was 8.33lac and highest package was 33lpa . One negative about this college is it's busy schedule and if you don't go well with it.you may face some difficulty to maintain a good cgpa.In all its a good college for one who is really interested in CSE and is ready to give 4 years to it.

Curriculum mainly focuses on the modern technologies and courses such as Artificial intelligence, machine learning, data structures, web development,etc. It is to the point and does not have any course which is irrelevant to CSE.Faculties are highly skilled and educated. Most of them are PhD's. They are ready to help you solve you doubts and guide you for career.

Placements here are fair enough. Top multi national companies arrive in college for campus placements. The average package for 2020 batch is 8.3lpa and the Highest package was 33lpa .Placement cell actively contacts the top MNC's

Fee Structure is nearly the same as other IIIT's and IIT"s. For first year student the tuition fees is 99k, hostel fees is 23.1k and mess fees is 21k (per semester).The placements are fair enough.Last year average package was 8.3lpa and the Highest package was 33lpa .

Campus is very spacious and covered with woods around it. Lush green surroundings give a good environment for a student to live and study.Some of the facilities available are Gym, Hospital, Auditorium, Open air auditorium, ATM, Football ground, Badminton court,etc.Technical club is highly active and conducts regular sessions.Cultural club is also active and gives you opportunity to take part in different events and organise them.

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Faculties are good. Most them are very friendly
Class rooms and canteen are also good. Not the best
Fees are very low comparing to other collages

Not giving good placements. Only 1 or 2 good companies good. Others are average
I'm not interested hostel. But my friends in hostel always saying that the food is not good.
Some faculties are not treat all the students equal. Not every only some

Placement Experience:

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

I cleared JEE MAINS and on the basis of my rank, I applied for many colleges. I was specifically looking for the top two engineering branches that is Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering and have applied for many but could not get into it due to higher rank category. Earlier I got Civil Engineering in NIT SILCHAR then I got Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIIT KOTTAYAM. I preferred IIIT KOTTAYAM over NIT SILCHAR because of the branch since Electronics and Communication Engineering is considered the second best branch after Computer Science Engineering. Yes, I got rejection from other colleges because the eligibility criteria for those colleges were securing high rank but my rank was not up to the mark. To get into such colleges , students need to clear Jee Mains and secure a good rank to get into such colleges. For general category , students need to get the rank under 30000 to get admission to such colleges. Colleges are listed via Josaa Counselling. Admission procedure is the student need to bring some of the important documents such as 10th and 12th board marksheet , category paper , jee rank and other such important documents to get into the admission procedure.
