Remarks

Atmosphere and My research interest is Glacier Hydrology. So I choose IIT Mandi. Don't think much. Apply in every IITs and research institute. This will increase the possibility of getting selected to the Programme. Before applying check the faculty profile and talk to seniors. Prepare SOP and Research Proposal before applying.

Course Curriculum Overview

Be ready to work hard. You have to deal with too many assignments and projects. Faculties are really good and supportive. You just have to keep going. Faculty Student ratio varies from course to course.

See one thing if you are doing a PhD you can go for lectureship, Post Doctorate studies, You can join R&D labs, work as a scientist in institutes of national importance. And yes you can seat in campus placement as well. No degree can guarantee you a job but your skills and knowledge can take you to new heights.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tuition fee of first semester was 18500 and 23000 for hostel fee. If you are doing PhD you will get monthly stipend of 31000 for the first 2 years after that 35000 per month for next 3 years. For Mtech student stipend amount is 12000 per month

Campus Life

I haven't gone to the campus yet because of this Covid situation. The campus is beautiful. I can say that from the pictures I have seen on the internet. I attended all the classes online. So no idea about amenities in classrooms. There are so many clubs. You can join as per your interest.

First you have to apply for the course. Then they will shortlist certain number of students. Shortlisting criteria varies from institute to institute, department to department, session to session. If you get shortlisted you have to appear for interview.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More

For eligibility criteria, you have to pass in 10th and 12th boards. I went to Kota for jee preparation and I also took a drop in 12th. after I filled out the Jossa counseling form I got an IIT mandi with the electrical branch. You should have 75% marks on the 12th board. otherwise, you can't sit in jee advanced exam. fee for jee mains form is 1000 rupees and Foer jee advanced is 2900. you can fill out Jee's mains form nearly december and jee advanced in around april.counselling time you should have all document which is compulsory for filling this form....Read More
