Remarks

Nit calicut is very good college and the course curriculum also very well designed. Admission process is based on GATE exam score. At the time of counselling of college I generally go through the main site of college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very good. Academics and all faculties are very good. Professors are very good. Their teaching style is excellent. All college staff are very helpful and kind in nature. In general there are two internal exam and one end sem exam but if teacher feel that extra test is necessary than they will take extra exams also. And all the test are moderate to hard. If u listen class carefully than it will be easy to pass.

There are two types of opportunity in nit calicut, one is internship and other one is campus placement. For internship, 1st year students are eligible and for campus placement, final year students are eligible. Avg package in ics is 11lpa . Some core company like GE, Samsung, Quallcum, analog design, Phillips, marwell, bhel, intel, google, tcs, Infosys and many other company are visit.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is very good. In campus all the facilities are available.there are many clubs like related to your course or education or curriculum and also some extra clubs that related to creative activities are available. We have online access to read books and journal. Library is also very big and good.

No. In nits there is no such things at the time of admission. The admission is fully based on GATE exam score. No other exam is required, no written test, no group discussion, no interview is required.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
