Remarks

Good number of research publications from the Biotech department, Young enthusiastic faculty who are equally motivated towards research, Pleasant weather in Himachal, Beautiful campus, No personal interview/document verification round, Less fees, fast spiking institute ranking.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was a biotech graduate and was looking for PG course without any specialization, Faculties are good, very motivated towards research, skilled in their area of expertise. PhD scholars are really great as well under these faculties. Teaching method was mainly using presentations, and somewhat using blackboards. Teaching was online during pandemic but the professors managed to educate really well. Course work is not very hectic. students get a lot of free time. Practical's were somewhat unsatisfactory as not everyone got to perform experiments due to lack of time and space. But 1 year project time and complete independence for handling instruments filled the gap. Examinations are really easy if your concepts are clear. only a few subjects required mugging up, rest were completely logical. Passing the course with good pointer (above 8) is really easy even if you consider yourself average. 1 year project work will cover up the less pointer. Exams dates were predefined but were conducted according to the ease of professors and students. almost every exam schedule for biotech department is conducted whenever the students are comfortable.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

No internships are permitted as m.tech's are already getting paid to be working as a teaching assistant. but if a internship shows up and the students wishes to pursue it college allows it but the scholarship stops for the period.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students are eligible for placements from second year. No placements in core for biotech department. Companies do not want to come for such a small strength. Even if a company shows up majority of students prefer to pursue PhD after masters. Other than than students need to co-ordinate complete placement procedure which is odd as students need to focus on curriculum as well in second year. For post graduates its a deal breaker as they cannot put so much time in these activities. Bachelor's students bring in most of the companies for placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There is negligible fees hike, mostly for mess charges. All students get a MHRD scholarship and compensated with 12400rs per month upon working 32 hours as a Teaching assistant. TA changes every semester and workload depends on what you are assigned. For exam if you are assigned to a maths faculty you'll have to learn a few things and assist. Some faculties are easy going and will assign you tasks you're comfortable with. Other duties in NKN, library, SRC are really easy.

Campus Life

5

Numerous clubs and activities to do. There are few popular ones such as cycling, hiking and trekking, etc. which allow to explore areas nearby campus. Annual tech fests are also conducted which are currently on stay due to pandemic. But even during this time multiple online activities are been conducted which would suit interest of every student. The activities are not limited to educational, you can explore your creative side as well. A physical and digital library is available with ample books. All clubs are groups are run by students. classroom amenities include projectors, power generators, room heaters and some classrooms have cushioned benches as wooden tend to get really chilly during winter. Many sports activities are present yet a shortage of indoor sports as majority of times students prefer them during winter and available ones are mostly full.

the following is the bare bones of accommodations in HPNLU lavery centre HPNLU placements and carrer prospects :-the HPNLU students are usually allowed to have campus placements staring in the 9th semester .the placement cell is only quite young ,and thus developing at NLU . Boutique law firms and companies such as link legal and lakshmikumaran and sridharan also conduct top recruiting , and a few of the students also conduct top recruiting ,and a few of the students also get the PPO,s after the internship . packages the largest packages are normally between 10-12 LPA,with an average package of between 6-7 LPA placement percentage approximately 40-50 % of students seeking corporate jobs end up being placed off campus . plans after degree :on a personal note ,i will be exploring the world of litigation or the courts ,as the degree offerings provided by the university provide a good base in regards to competitive tests .

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.
