Excellent Infrastructure, qualified teachers, industry relevant courses, decent placements

JIS GROUP conducts their entrances every year so I had taken the JIS GROUP entrance examination "CEE-AMPAI". The entrance exam is very standard and relevant. Most of the students who study decently can crack the entrance with flying colours. When my results were out I secured 138 merit rank which was a good start and I was eligible for the counselling process in the first counselling session. The counselling session was lucid. According to my score, I got choices for many colleges under JIS GROUP but I chose to be GURU NANAK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY as it is near from my place of living. I didn't avail of any quota. But yes there is a quota system. For getting admission here a student needs to get above 75% in 10th boards and 70% in 12th boards. One also needs to get decent marks in Computer Science/Maths for getting admission to the CSE stream. After the counselling process, we need to go again for completing the leftover formalities (personal information, qualifications details, etc).

Computer Science engineering is the fuel in bombing the IT sector. More case studies and practical problems will help students to crack the interviews and so I chode the CSE stream. The teachers are very passionate about their role in teaching the students. They always take an extra step to make students understand the concepts. The qualifications of the teachers are mostly those who have completed their masters, PhD, B.Ed. They are approachable and always ready to clarify student queries. Internal exams are conducted to make students prepare for semester exams. it helps students pass with good scores to compete in the market.

Internships are always made available from the college from the 1st Year itself which are non paid internships. The internship with stipend is available from the 3rd to 4th year. Good companies approach our college, One of them is MORGAN STANLEY campus and also other companies and roles of the internships are usually on the core subjects. The college also provides researches and projects which are to be done by students with the help of the mentors/faculty. This helps the students to get exposure on different fields.

The students are eligible to sit for the placements from the 4th year. More than 70% gets placed in core branches and also other branches. Wipro, TCS, Cognizant visits the college and selects our students ad top companies that consider GNIT students. The average package is decent. My plans are also to sit for the interview and crack one of the companies mentioned above.

The fees structure for 4 years course is about 5 lakhs. It is divided into 8 semesters. More than 70% of students get placed belonging to the CSE and other branches of B.Tech. Top companies consider GNIT students. The placement cell works hard to get its students to get placed. Wipro, Cognizant are few top companies who visited. There are also many scholarships available for the students passing with flying colours and for the students who are great in Sports. All eligible students are provided with scholarships.

The college held are a variety of fests like tech fests, college fests. Tech fests are usually conducted in March and College fests in February. There are also a lot of programs and functions held on the campus for the refreshments of the students and also the faculty members. It mainly helps the students to showcase their hidden talents on a big stage and get rid of the stage fears. The campus also has many social groups, clubs, alumni. Social groups help the students to get recent updates of all the domains. Clubs are created for the students to help in coding and logic. All the students help each other and the head of clubs conducts tests of coding and aptitude which help us to strengthen our base.
