Remarks

I had applied to three colleges including VIPS but I didn't think twice when I got to know that I'm eligible to get admission in VIPS. VIPS is considered to be the best in Delhi for BJMC. The admission process was also very smooth. I didn't have to run here and there for formalities. It was quite easy and handy.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because I'd a keen interest in fields related to BJMC. The faculty here is very cool and highly qualified. They are Eveready to help you at any point in time. Every professor has their own way of teaching but none of them did I find to be difficult to understand. They are really helpful.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 110 per year

Internships Opportunities

The college has asked us to find internships on our own and If someone is unable to find any then they can simply contact any of the faculty coordinators and they will surely help you to find an internship.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placement after the 5th semester and there are quite a few companies visiting every year . 60-70% of the students easily get placed depending on their skills and resumes . I am planning to go for higher studies after completion of my course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the first year were 1.10 lakhs per annum and the for the second year , it is 1.04 lakhs per annum. I don't really know about the scholarship policies and all but they provide internships whenever needed.

Campus Life

The annual fest of VIPS is known as spandan and it is one of the best fests of GGSIPU. There are quite many books and journals available at the library. You can find almost every book you need. The classrooms are really spacious and highly maintained. Sports is not that much active in college but there are various extra curricular societies. Every social club has its own page on every social media platform.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 4th year to sit in placements. Famous companies like NDTV, News 24 , India today, ABVP,etc comes for placement. Highest package was 1200000 per annum and 300000 per annum is average package. Profiles offered are reporter,research executives, content creator, anchor, field reporter,etc I will go for anchoring after completing the degree.

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Placement of our college is pretty good almost 80% students get good placement but at the same time its very important to know that you will get college placement at end of you masters as DSJ provides Five year integrated programme in journalism. Placement Experience:

Companies which are considered as Big 4 offer placement opportunities with lavish packages but when it comes to placement for journalism students then Hindustan Times, Reuters, The print, other media and publication houses offers placement for the role of content writer, editors and associates. Get set start with brief info about VIPS.

I applied for Delhi Universities and IP Universities. The first criteria to get into DU is based on merit but also you have the second option ie. by giving the the-Jat exam. Though the cut-off yet goes high for general category students. So I ended up getting into the topmost colleges of IP universities in my course. IP has an entrance exam for every student and the maximum % of admission depends on the Rank you get in the CET. For my course, it is mandatory to have Maths and English in your 12th. The l the rank results higher the chance you to get admitted. The process has 3 rounds after the results. Post getting the results you set your college preferences and according to your rank, you are allotted one. If you are satisfied with the college you can get yourself enrolled but if not you can wait for the second round which goes the same way. But even if you are yet not satisfied you can wait for the spot round ie. if someone leaves that spot. The entire admission process in IP is systematic....Read More
