Remarks

I applied for Delhi Universities and IP Universities. The first criteria to get into DU is based on merit but also you have the second option ie. by giving the the-Jat exam. Though the cut-off yet goes high for general category students. So I ended up getting into the topmost colleges of IP universities in my course. IP has an entrance exam for every student and the maximum % of admission depends on the Rank you get in the CET. For my course, it is mandatory to have Maths and English in your 12th. The l the rank results higher the chance you to get admitted. The process has 3 rounds after the results. Post getting the results you set your college preferences and according to your rank, you are allotted one. If you are satisfied with the college you can get yourself enrolled but if not you can wait for the second round which goes the same way. But even if you are yet not satisfied you can wait for the spot round ie. if someone leaves that spot. The entire admission process in IP is systematic.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I specifically opted for b.com(h) because of my field of interest and my family background too. I opted to choose this course as my UG program because of the keen interest I have in the field of management and marketing. Talking about the faculty they are all highly qualified and experience with most of them PhDs.The faculty is very friendly and unbiased. They promote ethical and value-based knowledge to all the students benefiting from their practical skills and their application too. The college schedules proper internal as well as external examinations each semester including assignments, quizzes, and presentations. It is never too difficult if you have prepared well. Though the length of your answers does matter at IP University.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

College provides proper updates in terms of internships and other project-based opportunities. They also conduct a placement fair for students to get a chance to grab the opportunities to be a part of these companies on board. The college has offered various minimal stipend and performance-based internship opportunities to its students for various roles including finance, marketing, sales, HR and many more. The companies onboard provide proper training and networking to the individual for instance say a stipend of 6-8k per month. It has various projects and task opportunities from different companies. Like digital marketing review projects and so forth.

Placement Experience

3

The college provides internship opportunities from the 2nd year onwards. The college provides 20-30% definite placements to the students. And almost 80% of students get internship experience and exposure from the college itself. Placement packages are average but also depend on the person and his/her skills. The average package ranges from 2.5-3.5 lacs approximately. Top recruiting companies like AIMS India, Insurance companies, and E&Y. Many more companies visit onboard for the opportunity of Jobs and internships. My immediate step after the degree of graduation is to have practical experience in the real world and work to gain that exposure and have my further studies post that.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides with best on-campus facilities to all the students. The fees hike policy is not odd but varies every year depending on the courses as well. The cost of the study is not affordable for everyone but yet has the minimal cost of education with the best facilities provided in terms of education to other opportunities. Merit cum bases and economically weaker sections students can apply for scholarships. The college provides ample opportunities for their successful career in terms of internship opportunities and job opportunities with the help of its placement cell with almost 300+ companies onboard.

Campus Life

3.5

Talking about the Campus and social life it is very healthy and competitive. The campus life at VIPS is pretty good. It has an annual fest in October ie. Initio and spandhan. It has an eco-friendly and vibrant environment with modern and centrally air-conditioned infrastructure. The library is well off with properly sectioned books and journals and the entire campus is centrally wi-fi enabled. The college has properly maintained and fully furnished classrooms, labs, meditation rooms, studios, training centers, and so on. The college is well versed in its various social clubs and extra curriculums involved ranging from speaking skills to acting, to music, to dancing, to playing sports. The campus life at VIPS is very happening and full of zeal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had taken admission in SOL for BCOM HONS because my stream was in 12th commerce so I had preferred to go in the commerce line. On the other hand, I had to do CA so this line is similar to this that's why I applied for it. Bcom Hons exam conducted annually (part1,2,3) annual mode when I took admission. it is not difficult for me because I studied all subjects in CA so it is easy to pass exams for me.

Placement Experience:

According to the official college reports the average package offered to the students is 6 lac per annum and the highest package offered to the students was 21 lac per annum. The recruiter's list could see big names like Bain & Co., Zomato, McKinsey & Company, Deshaw & Co., EY among many others. The students start applying for the placements around the 5th and 6th semesters. Many students also get Pre Placement Offers depending upon their performances in their internships. B.com (HONOURS) is a very diverse field, so after completing my Bachelor's degree I aspire to pursue Chartered Accountancy.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has been instrumental in providing me the platform to fine-tune my existing skills as well develop new ones. Having spent two years in college now, I can say that the college has provided me ample opportunities to grow and flourish both individually and professionally. With extremely helpful and experienced faculty members, I am certain that I took the right decision to join this college. If you have the will to work and seize every opportunity that comes your way, look no further and be apart of the SBSC family. Only negative point is that college dont have own hostel.

I would say that my college is surely a good one its a really prestigious college and after living there for 3 years i get to know why it is that much prestigious. But if there is positive sides there are negative sides as well. College should have to take care of the infrastructure of the college which is quite poor and old too.
