Remarks

I applied for 2 universities (ggsipu and delhi university). I got my name selected in various colleges of ip university or ggsipu like tecnia, jims rohini, agarsen etc but i chose vips as it was better than others and i personally believe that vips is one of the best ipu college. I also applied in DU in colleges like kirorimal , hansraj , srcc etc. I got 91% in cuet examination but i didn't got any college of north campus in DU so i chose vips as i got 1267 rank in ipucet exam . vips is a bit expensive as compared to the colleges in Du but is better than them infrastructure wise. You have to give Ipucet or cuet to get admission in vips.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

There are 6 classes in bba course section a to f. A,b,c for morning batch and d,e,f for evening batch. Each section or class has around 50 students and a total of 300 students in bba course. In my opinion the boys girl ratio is around 70:30 in our course and probably 65:35 for the entire college. There are many students from different states majorly from Delhi around 90% and the rest are from bihar, maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Haryana, uttar pradesh etc. Two students are from islam religion, 1 from Christianity, 2 are from Jainism and rest are from Hinduism. So i can say that students from different religion come to the college but not on a large scale. The peer group is amazing and a lot of activities like Group discussion is done to improve it. There are marks for attendance and also for submitting assignments and for internal examinations conducted by the college. few students like our class representative shiva attend all the classes seriously for learning purpose and almost all the teachers of the college know him whereas on the other hand some students don't even attend classes or even when they attend they attend it for marking attendance only and not for learning and interacting.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

No the college didn't achieved 100% placement of internships. The remaining students have to do internship themselves. Around 10% in my opinion gets paid internships. Highest stipend is around 25k per month, avg is around 5-10k and lowest around 1k. Companies like deloitte hires the most students. In my opinion the internship scenario is better in other courses like btech.

Placement Experience

1

After the completion of final semester exams the final placement starts. It takes around a month for placement to officially get over. Around 10-15% students get final placement and the others don't. The college provides placement opportunity for many many years to ex students as well. The average ctc is around 3-4Lpa, the hightest is around 12Lpa and the lowest can go to 1-1.5 Lpa. Amazon, delloite etc are the most proffered ones don't know about their avg ctc. The placement committee has a strong role in guiding students and giving them opportunity in the placement drive of the college, it also provides many mock interview practices and expert counselling to know more about placements and yes the process is 100% transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure varies by your course but in bba it is around 1.16 lakhs per annum for 3 years which makes it a total upto 3.5 lakhs for 3 years. I have paid fees for all 3 years. This is the tuition fees that i mentioned and as there is no hostel available in the college u have to rent it on your own, there is no mess fees , there is no transport fees from college side. It takes me around 50₹ to reach college from metro and taking a rickshaw to the college. The fees is quiet high as compared to DU colleges like hansraj as they have annual fees of around 30 thousand, but the fees is almost the same in other ip university colleges like surajmal or tecnia. The fees is lower than symbiosis pune or Christ university. Transport expenses can be incurred around 30-150 depending from where u come from. You have to take a metro and rickshaw to reach college as the metro is not direct to the college premises. A one time meal in college canteen can cost u around 100₹ which is expensive but may cost around 50₹ if you eat outside the college. The fees is same for all categories or religions but a scholarship is offered by the university every year for economically weaker section. The fees otherwise is same for everyone and a very few people that belong to EWS receive the scholarship.

Campus Life

2

There are many sports facilities in college like indoor games- chess, table tennis, carrom, ludo etc. And outdoor games- basketball, football, cricket etc. The equipments for indoor games are provided by college but for outdoor games you have to bring your own equipments. The college doesn't have a gym and neither any swimming pool. The libraries of the college are very good and almost all types of books and research papers are available there don't know about the third party databases and the librariesare open till 5 or 6pm. The college campus is not very big but neither a small campus and most of the students travel from metro and some from cars and two wheelers. The cars or 2 wheeler can be parked outside the college and there is enough space for parking them. Relatives can visit the campus with us by filling a form on the entry gate. No there are no food joints except the canteen in the college premises. The college does have a medical room but it is not big enough to handle large crowd and the medical staff is well Qualified. Most students go to their home, some students play sports in the college and other students do work of college societies. Some students roam around till 7 or 8 in the college for society work or college event works but the canteen gets closed around 4. Students mostly sit in the ground and canteen inside the college and don't know about outside the campus. The locality is safe to roam around till night. The festive season is great in the college and has a very cool vibe. Many stars like arpit bala and parmish verma performed recently. Clubs like vivran (dramatic society) , aflatoon (acting) , 35mm (filmmaking). I was part of vivran for one year. Entrepreneurship training cell of anthaprerna and 35mm in my opinion are the most influential cells. I never heard of any international student exchange in the college so i guess no.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There is no hostel facility in the college and no hostel facility is given in linkage of the college so i have no opinion on this point. If someone needs a pg or hostel they have to see for it themselves. There is no hostel facility in the college and no hostel facility is given in linkage of the college so i have no opinion on this point. Exam Structure

For admission in vips college or any other college of ip university you have to give ipucet exam or cuet exam and as per the ranks Secured in those examination you can get admission, the students who give ipucet exam are given first preference for admission as their admission process and rounds start earlier than the students who gave cuet examination. Online on the website of ip university you can apply for the colleges u want and as per your rank you will get allotment. After selection a counselling happens in the college and then you have to submit your rank proof, fees, your other personal information etc. The process of admission from the date of examination till the counselling lasts for around 3 months and it starts from june or july . There are 3 rounds for selection and 2 spot rounds where generally cuet students are placed. There is also management quota and donation process through which any 12th pass student can get admission if they have given the cuet or cet examination.

Faculty

1.5

Academics is very rigorous in IIM Lucknow. There are possibilities where students can fail in exam if they do not perform well. Faculty usually use case based approach in teaching by discussing real life business cases related to the subject. Some faculties such as Mrityunjai Tiwari and Sonia spend time and care to make sure that the students capture the essence of what is being taught. Although there are some professors who just goes through the motions for their classes as well. There is an attendance rule where you must have 75% attendance in a subject below which you will get a grade drop. If attendance is below 50% you'll get an F and fail the subject.

My father chose Law for me and he was influenced from the general mass that was opting law at that time. The curriculum of law is arbitrary, it is very far from how courts work and operate, the real life experince is hardly taught and the real courts and law can only be understood through internships and practice. There should be real practicing lawyer teaching the working of courts at least once a week or twice a month to prepare the students for what they are going to face in courts and companies. The exams were Moderate in difficulty.
