Entrance Preview

UHF combined entrance examination for horticulture and forestry streams. The merit of entrance examination is the sole criteria for selection at that time. It is the best institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Very good keeping in view the requirement of corporate and public sector. My electives in MBA agribusiness are finance, and got credit manager job in private sector bank easily. The course is very effective gives all round information about agriculture horticulture, credit structure, marketing retrospectives etc.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, in B Sc topper get internship for performance and other facilities in hostel as well, in Post graduation also there are stipend for each students at that time.

Placement Experience

4

The opportunities were less at that time but later on it improved in great way as hiring of agriculture graduates were very high after 2005. But best education level helped the students to get better jobs. Due to rise in vacancies in finance sector more Particularly in banking sector as agricultural officers helped the students to get better jobs in banks.

College Events

5

The campus was full of life. Hostel life was more exciting two cultural clubs are there competition is there for best performance. One is Environment sports and cultural club (ESCC) and other is TEAS. Both organise cultural and sports events. Almost all students take part in atleast on activity.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At that time it is quite feasible. I still remember the initial semester fee was about 4000 per semester. In MBA it was around 6000 per semester. Students also got stipend. The monthly hostel expenses were around 2000-3000. it was very much feasible at that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships are there for toppers, but not having more idea. I got only stipend as fee was very nominal at that time, hence there was no need of education loan there.

Admission

I gave entrance test. My streams are PCM with 50% marks in 10+2. Got a rank in entrance examination and got admitted in college of Horticulture. After B.Sc. Horticulture, gave entrance of MBA agribusiness and got the rank there.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of college at that time was very good. every teacher is expert in his discipline. Some teachers are world renowned in horticulture and forestry sector. At that time it was the only university of horticulture and forestry in asia, hence best faculty was there. Although there is political intervention is there but it teaches best toward the corporate politics in future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as my father had studied the same course and had the same profession that I'm aiming for. For improvements i would like to recommend more practicals rather than theory classes as, practical knowledge is just as important as theoretical knowledge. The frequency of exams is a problem. There is very less gap between examinations which makes it difficult to prepare for the vast subjects. Plus, the marking is strict, and the criteria to pass the exams are also complicated.

The course curriculum is good overally but also kind of too much for a student to cover as you got 10-12 courses in a semester to study. The frequency and timing of the exams should be adjusted so that students may got appropriate time to prepare for them
