Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course as my father had studied the same course and had the same profession that I'm aiming for. For improvements i would like to recommend more practicals rather than theory classes as, practical knowledge is just as important as theoretical knowledge. The frequency of exams is a problem. There is very less gap between examinations which makes it difficult to prepare for the vast subjects. Plus, the marking is strict, and the criteria to pass the exams are also complicated.

Internships Opportunities

2

I am unaware of any internships offered at the university but, im pretty sure there are some as ive heard people talk about some things about it but i havent paid any attention to them as im not interested at the moment.

Fees and Financial Aid

1)The year-wise fees of CSMHPKV Palampur is almost 42000-43000 2)The fees for BSc Honors Agriculture at Agriculture University Palampur vary. Here's a breakdown: - Tuition Fee: Rs 42,918 for the first year - Caution Fee: Rs 5,000 (one-time payment) - Registration Fee: Rs 700 - Other Compulsory Charges: - Hostel Fee: Rs 53,500 (for four years) - Mess Fee: Included in the hostel fee - Security Deposit: Rs 2,000 (one-time payment) Category-wise Fees - General Category: Rs 42,918 (first-year tuition fee) - SC/ST Category: Fees may be exempted or reduced, but exact details are not available - Management Category: Not applicable, as Agriculture University Palampur is a government institution. 3)As for scholarships, CSKHPKV Palampur offers various scholarships to deserving students. Some of these scholarships include: - Merit-cum-Need Scholarship: Awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. - SC/ST Scholarship: Provided to students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe backgrounds. - Girls from BPL Families Scholarship: Offered to girls from Below Poverty line

Campus Life

2

A fest that is held is himtarang, which hasn't been conducted yet due to financial reasons. The availability of books in the library is limited to the subjects studied in the university and no extra genres. But you'll find plenty of books regarding your subjects. A sports meet is held annually which is full of excitement and enthusiasm. All the colleges of the university compete against each other in a variety of sports and win prizes, awards, medals, etc. Student-run groups are there such as ABVP and ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE plus there are also fun clubs like dance and music club.

Admission

I applied for icar reservation through CUET examination through which I had a confirmed admission in GADVASU Ludhiana but, i preferred CSKHPKV, Palampur because it is loacted in my hometown and it has the course i was willing to take. The admission process of our college varies with the course you're applying for. For agriculture and btech, you need to clear the CUET exam w.r.t to the subjects required for the course. Fro BVsc. (Veterinary) You need to clear NEET. However, in the College of Basic Sciences, admission is merit-based.

Faculty

4

The faculty is nice to the students when it comes to clearing doubts regarding a subject. I said "almost" because some professors are rude and not very welcoming. The soil department of the university is not my favourite to deal with, with a few exceptions ofcourse. The soil department is known for really strict marking and rude behaviour. The faculty of college of basics science is the best. They all are extremely polite and soft spoken, always ready to help. All the teachers of basic science are known to be empathetic. I'm unaware of the new education policy that has been implemented upon our freshers. But, according to ours, we have 3 exams. A mid term of 20 marks a practical of 30 marks and an end term of 50 marks. Midterms and practicals are both internal exams, whereas the end term is an external exam. Out of 50 in both the exams, you need to score 20 to pass. For example, the marks of your midterm and practical as an aggregate should be 20 or more, or else you'll fail in that subject. In the end term, more or equal to 20 out of 50 are required, and the mid term plus practical should make 50/100; if it is less than 50, an F grade is given. The failure of a student purely depends on the subject and the student's efforts, but I will say this course needs thorough study as it is a professional course.

Night Life

3

I am not a hosteller so, i wouldn't know about the nightlife of the college but hearing from friends, it is pretty good. The cafeteria is a good hangout place for food and fun. The gate no. 1 of the campus has a cafe and also a street food stall which has pretty tasty treats for you to try. Outside the university along the road is a food truck which is pretty good and also the market is nearby which has plenty of famous restaurants. The college campus is safe to roam around in at night but i wouldn't assure you of your safety outside the campus at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University - [GADVASU] | Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc]

I did not opt for this college as it was far away from my hometown, and I prefer agriculture over fisheries.

There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.
