I cleared my JEE-Main with 117 marks (cutoff was 115). My state (gujrat) rank was 1902. As I want good college rather than any particular branch I pulled myself into this Nirma University for Electrical engineering. Admission process for B. Tech is quiet simple. 50% of the total seats of every branch are admitted by state (gujrat) admission committee And 35% seats are admitted by Nirma University on priorly JEE-Main Merit. University start this admission process within a week after JEE -Main Result on its website. Rest seats are admitted by Gulf quota, NRI quota and Management quota at institute.

Course curriculum is very good. It will surely help you to be a perfect technocrat. they offer many courses that will help you in future. Course curriculum is among the AICTE suggested course. They offer your course evaluation like this: 12% - sessional exam grade16% - class test grade 12% - your special assignment grade ~ you have to clear 16%( out of above 40%) to attain semester end final exam Then 15% - your practical or Lab work assessment 5% - VivaYou have to clear 8%( from above 20%) And 40% - semester end examination grade. You have to clear 16% (from above 40%) Thus your total course grade is evaluated.

College doesn't provide any internship or stipend to B. Tech students.

IIIT cell of nirma university work very well. Job opportunity and placement possibility is higher than any other low standard colleges in gujrat. Please note Companies that came for campus placement will allow only those student whose have not any IF(failure in particular course) during the whole course most of the time.

Vaudeville - the cultural fest of ITNU It is the best festival celebrated in Nirma. It consits various cultural competition and activity like singing, dancing, monoacting, playing instruments, rangoli, street drama, debating, stage play etc. During the fest University suspend the classes of students to participate in fests. There are also Sports day and Navratri Celebration in campus. Technical event of Nirma university is NUTECH. And there is also many events that celebrated by different clubs and student associations.

Fee structure is quite expensive. 152400 per annum as academic fee. 4000 as library deposit fee that you have to pay at admission time. these is refundable. If you have got failure in sem end exam so you have to 450 for exam and grade report fee for re-exam. If you have got failure in course you have to 5250 for exam and grade report fee for re-exam.

University offer two scholarships to B. Tech students. 1. Scholarships to the some student that came from weak financial background. amount of these scholarship is decided by authority. Hence the student should not achieve scholarship from any other source. In that case student have to choose any one to get scholarship. 2. Scholarship of worth 90000/- to the first five students from all over B. Tech who scored best in the particular semester. And also University account section help you to get education loan from the bank. hence they will just guide you, the rest of the process that you should carry.

Campus life is quite boring. You have to attend classes regularly as University has the rule that 85% attendance is compulsory for passing the course. There is facilities for sports but very few students use it. Because there is no extra time you have.

They dont provide hostel facility to B. Tech student. There is some PG around the university. They are quite expensive. It will cost you around 7000-12000 per month with all facilities like drinking water, AC/nonAC, wifi, washing clothes, cleaning, security etc.

Seniors are very helpful in every manner. Hence you have to interact very little bit with them except the college functions. In events seniors will promote you to be participate.

There is three exams + one LPW for one subject in a semester. 1. Sectional exam of 30 marks 2. Class teat of 40 marks 3. Semester End Examination of 100 marks. 4. LPW- Lab Practical Workshop exam Sectional and class test may be the online test. Normally University dont give any extra offs for reading during examinations.

Faculty of the college is good. As a student you can benifit many Ex-IITans as faculty. (As they serves there for their expenses during preparation cor their GATE examination). Most of the Faculties are quite serious about teaching. All Faculties are qualified and have a good knowledge about subject. Other faculty is quite good for gujarat level.
