A review on CMRIT

The admission process was very smooth, greatly facilitated by the staff. For CSE in CMRIT, you need a COMEDK rank under 26000 approx or KCET rank under 7400 approx for generalo category students. The college is ranked 9th in Bangalore and the placements are good so the competition on the counselling day can feel overwhelming.

My primary goal was to get a relevant degree and get a job in the IT industry and my COMEDK rank supported that so I chose Computer Science Engineering. The student to faculty ratio is pretty decent. Majority of the professors hold doctoral degrees and are passionate about teaching. The internals conducted by the college are fairly competent and serve very well in preparing the students for the Semester End Exams conducted by VTU.

We have internship opportunities from various companoes like Microsoft etc. The college has a Centre of Excellence which guides students carry out research work and independent projects. The placement department helps students prepare for internships from an early stage.

Students are trained for placements from the first semester by a program called TYL-Tie Your Laces which helps them improve their technical and interpersonal skills. Students become eligible for placements from 5th semester onwards depending on the company requirement. But most students get placed in the 7th semester. We have a lot of companies (100 on average) like Dell, Deloitte, Amazon,SAP etc to name a few. More than 90% of the students get placed with average package of 5.5 LPA.

The fee structure is different for different entrance exams and depending on the stream(the tution fee varies) but the college charges a reasonable 30k per annum irrespective of any other details. The admission department lets the students split the fees into installments if they provide a valid reason with a valid reason.

The college conducts one Cultural fest every year called "Cultura" which is extreemely popular in Banaglore and attended by more than 5000 people. The classroooms are well ventilated with good amenities. The sports department has a wide range of both indoor and outdoor sports like Cricket, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis etc. The library is very vast and houses thousands of books with an even larger amount of ebooks in eLibrary. There are computers with a stable internet connection for students to use. There are a lot of student run organizations on campus for various activities like Literature Club, Art Club, TEDx Community etc.
