Remarks

RV College - Too far, BIT - the campus is very bad.General merit, Got admission through KCET The admission process was seamless. BMS College of Engineering is a very warm college with an okay campus. The atmosphere is very chill, the crowd is good. Overall a very nice college

Course Curriculum Overview

Telecommunication Engineering is similar to Electronics and Communication, hence I chose it 1:10 Good teaching, the methodology is okay, like any Indian school or college. Three internals held once in two weeks, not very difficult to pass

Internships Opportunities

Few companies come for internship+full time, some come for only placement, that is a full time, some come only for internship. The stipend for internships is generally 30k-50k. Internships can be 2 months or 6 months. Based on one's performance during these internships, they are offered pre-placement

Placement Experience

Before the 7th semester A lot of companies, some companies take 5 students , some 20, some 1, Depends on the company. Highest package is around 15 - 22LPa lowest is around 3 - 4Lpa. 50-80% get placed, but placement department doesn't allow all branches to sit sometimes which is a slight disadvantage Work

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is according to CET which is 50,000 + college fees which is 20,000. An obtained Merit scholarship is given by BMS alumni for only the first topper of the department Obtained good placement from college

A Brief Review of My College (New Horizon College of Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Experience at new horizon.

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester onwards students are eligible for the placement. Alots of companies like VISA,IBM,Accenture etc2 visited our college. The highest package recorded as of 2023 was from VISA offering 32.2 lakhs. 90 percent of the students get placed. After I get my degree I will work for awhile in the corporate world and starting up my own business on the side.

Placement Experience:

Many top MNC's come to the college. Recently the placement opportunities has increased when compared to our batchs.Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, SLK, Mphasis etc had given us the opportunity. The average package offer was 3.5lpa or 4lpa. The highest package known to me was 10lpa for a CS student not for us. The placements begins either at the end of 6th sem or in the beginning of 7th sem. Almost 60-70% of us were placed by the end of graduation but due to recession the onboarding was very late. Waited for more than a year to get onboarded.

The college placements are pretty good and provide an average of 6lpa for the students. There are lot of IT companies visit to oyr college but there are no opportunities for the courses other than IT related branches. Students become eligible after their 6th semester in the academics.

BMS College of Engineering - Review

Had applied for BIRLA institute of technology as well as MSRIT, but BIRLA was a bit too expensive based on fees for my liking and MSRIT was a back up option. BMSCE is an old and reputed college, dating back the 1950's, also being one of the oldest private colleges in the country. So getting admission here made it a no-brainer option to go for. BMSCE - A Clean Perspective into the Oldest Private Eng College in India

I applied to colleges like RVCE, DSCE, BITS, PES and MS Ramaiah but I was rejected by RVCE and BITS due to cutoffs. Among the others, I felt like BMS was the best option and my opinion on that has not changed. Admission process through COMEDK was straightforward. After locking ny seat, I had to report to the college, fill in the paperwork and pay the misc fees. That was all. COMEDK is pretty easy and I would recommend that as the mode for admission into BMS instead of others like JEE or KCET....Read More
