Entrance Preview

AIEEE, score-209/360 one of the best NITs of india. I got branch which i preferred for good campus, fool of greenary.

Internships Opportunities

No not at all. I have not heard any of my friends or classmate doing internship in the college itself.

Placement Experience

Placement is very good for branches like computer science, mechanical, electronics and electrical with above 80% placement in these branches with average package of Rs. 6 lac. Total 118 companies visited.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Now it is expensive. Per semester fee is around 40000 rupees now. So for a b.tech course it is around 3,20,000. They ask fee semester wise. For phd ans M.sc fee is around 10,000. SC/ ST students have to pay almost negligible fee as lot of government policy is there for them.

Fees and Financial Aid

Most of the scholarships that i came to know about was from state government. Our college didn't offer any. No loan facilities by college.

Alumni/Alumna

There is almost no helpful network of alumni. Though some seniors are helpful but it depends on their individual perception.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs both were very frequent. In a semester there used to three exam for a subject. Test 1 -20 marks, Test 2- 20 marks, 10 marks assignment, End sem - 50 marks. There will be one day lab in a week with 1 or 2 theory classes for same. Passing marks was 40 in all subject with relative grading.

Faculty

Only 20% of total available faculties are qualified for teaching. There is scarcity of staff, almost 35%. To fullfill this, they hire ad-hoc(part time teacher) who doesn't have any experience and knowledge about the subject. Classes got cancelled if any faculty of particular subject take leave.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
