All about somaiya.

I applied for sies college but they didn't have internship opportunities. Somaiya college has quota for gujratis but not applicable on me. 60% + in your bachelor is required here. Age narrier is not there in masters. We have 35 yr old student also in our class. Admission process is very simple. Go to the somaiya vidyavihar website. There will be admissions button. Click. Select course and add details. Everything will be emailed you eg. Your fee receipts and other details. Office staff connects through their official email. You get official somaiya email of your own which is valid for life time and this email gets you free softwares and links and storage. Teaching is also very good.

I chose this course because it has never ending opportunities. Faculty is extremely helpful and friendly. They solve every doubts and they are very trained and updated always. They cover not just syllabus but also other life skills and als make us improve our CV. They use creativewthods to teach like activitiesvideos, games. We also had yoga sessions because pandemic had bad impact on our mental health. Exams here are not based on how much you remember. They are based on how you solve a problem. We have internal and theory papers. Practicals are graded immediately after and have continuous assesment which makes us ready for all type of work. Students from somaiya get so industrial ready that we can handle every situation easily. Tryst me i was an introvert and had no skills but somaiya improved me.

Right now we are building our CV and based on that CV teachers will invite companies for our placements. Companies like Cipla, Terracon and satellite, consultancy agencies, tourism, wildlife protection etc offer internships. Students can also tell the company and job they are interested in and college gives them placements there. College also pays attention to the black listed companies. Black listed companies are the ones that dont provide skilful internships or less pay. Somaiya gives better opportunities

For my course Masters in environment studies, A student is eligible for campus placements after 3 semesters, where the fourth semester is completely internship and sometimes students get job at the place they have internship and also they can explore on their own. Companies related to safety sustainability research offer internships.95% of students get internships and employments. In history, all the students got the job.

Fees for my course MSc environment science was 75000 and we have different scholarship opportunities and also scholarships and training that we need for abroad studies. Somaiya has also started helping the students whos earning have affected due to pandemic or if earning member has died. We have seminars on finance which is very helpful.

Somaiya celebrates every day related to the environment and all. We have magazines. Sports events technology fests and megahertz eco luminous as our fests and these are usually celebrated in January and sports events on 15 Aug and 26 Jan. There are various activities. You name it and it will be there from athletic activities to laboratory activities we have everything. Somaiya has the biggest campus so everything is possible. We have all types of gardens, food and everything

2 lakhs per year. Food n all by the hostel. Rooms with comfortable beds and study atmosphere and good ventilation. On somaiya site all the details are there. Hostels are inside the campus. The food is vegetarian and clean. Chapati is of good quality. There is electricity 24/7. Washrooms are clean and are regularly cleaned too.
